Chapter 43
I stared at the envelope in my hand. This was it. This was the moment that can change everything. To say I was worried was an understatement. I was freaking out. What if Grayson got in and I didn't? What if I got in and Grayson didn't?
My parents told me that sometimes, those things happen. But I couldn't be apart from Grayson. Not because he was my boyfriend and I loved him, but because he needed someone to be with him. I couldn't risk him going deeper into depression if he had nobody to support him.
Grayson walked into my bedroom, holding an identical envelope. He sat down on my bed and the both of us just stared at the envelopes in our hands. My hands were shaking a whole lot, so Grayson reached over and held one.
"Are you ready?" he asked.
"No, not really?" I said. "I'm freaking out right now."
"Me too," Grayson said. "But we have to do it."
I nodded, pulling my hand out of Grayson's. "On three?" I asked. Grayson nodded. "One....Two....Three."
The both of us opened our envelopes. Grayson did it quickly, but I was struggling a bit because of my stupid shaking hands. When it was opened, I pulled the letter out, my heart beating faster. Please don't be bad news....
It wasn't. I couldn't believe it. I got accepted into the university!
I looked over at Grayson, who was staring at his letter, his expression unreadable. Finally, he looked at me. "Flower," he said. "I got in. I got in!"
"Me too!" I said.
"Really?" he asked with a smile. I nodded and he pulled me up, pulling me into a hug. "I'm so happy now! I didn't want to be separated from you."
"Same," I said. "Come on, let's go tell my parents." I grabbed his hand and pulled him downstairs. My parents were both in the kitchen, preparing dinner. "Mom, Dad, guess what?"
They both looked at us with furrowed eyebrows. "What?" Mom asked.
"Grayson and I both got accepted into MDC!" I said excitingly.
Mom pulled me into a hug. "Oh, congratulations! And it's not that far from here so you two can visit whenever."
"I can't believe my little girl is going off to university," Dad said with a frown as he put the food onto four plates. "She's all grown up."
"At least I'm not going all the way across the country," I pointed out.
Dad nodded. "Very true. So, let's sit down and eat."
Shortly after we were all seated and eating, Mom decided to ask a question Grayson and I haven't even thought about. "Will you two get dorms or an apartment?" Mom asked.
Grayson and I looked at each other. "Uh....We haven't talked about it," I said. "I didn't even think about it...."
"May I say something?" Dad asked. We all nodded. "I think it would be best for you two to get an apartment."
"Really?" I asked.
"Yes," Dad said. "I know there are times were Grayson needs to talk to at night, and I doubt your roommate would be happy with your boyfriend going into your room at one in the morning." It was true; that happened a lot.
I looked at Grayson. "Do you want to get an apartment?" I asked.
"Honestly, yeah," Grayson said. "I'll need someone I can talk to whenever and living in separate dorms will be such a pain."
After we finished dinner, Grayson and I went to my bedroom to go on my computer. He sat down on the computer chair and pulled me onto his lap. It was best to find an apartment as soon as possible because once school ends, I bet a lot of people who would be attending MDC would start looking for apartments.
We found a lot of apartments close by the university campus. "So," Grayson said, resting his chin on my shoulder. "Should we get an apartment with one bedroom or two?"
I had to admit, I thought for a bit. Having one room would mean sharing a bed and Grayson and I weren't really that....intimate. Sharing a room could change that. Then again, he was my boyfriend after all. There was nothing wrong with it.
"One bedroom," I said. "It's cheaper."
Grayson chuckled and kissed my cheek. "I like the way you think, Flower."
After contacting a few people to book tours of the possible apartments, Grayson told me he wanted to play some Minecraft. He went in his room to get his laptop before sitting on my bed. We both logged on and he told me there was a new server that he was working on and he wanted me to check it out.
I joined it and immediately spawned beside him. "Can't we go on our other server?" I asked. "We did so much work on that!"
"We can do it another time," Grayson said. "I just want to show you something I made. It took me so long. Like, an hour long."
I rolled my eyes. "Wow, that's so long."
"I sense sarcasm."
"Really?"
"Just follow me," Grayson said, his Minecraft character leading me down a path. I sighed and followed him, tempted to get a sword and hit him just because. However, we were in creative mode so I couldn't hurt him.
Grayson led me to a small building made out of wooden building with red flowers, poppies to be exact. He stood by the door and had his character look at me. "There," he said. "Go in."
"It's not rigged with TNT, is it?" I asked.
Grayson snorted. "Flower, if I was going to rig a building with TNT to blow you up, we wouldn't be in creative right now. Just go in."
I sighed, going into the building. When I saw what was inside, I couldn't help but smile. Grayson was the most adorable boyfriend ever.
Right in the middle of the room, he used red wool to spell out PROM?
I turned to look at Grayson, who was now standing up from the bed. "So?" he asked. "What do you say?"
I stood up and threw my arms around him, pressing my lips onto his. I pulled away and smiled up at him. "You are such a dork," I said.
"Yeah, well I'm not good at the whole romantic thing," he said.
I shook my head. "No, it was the perfect way to ask me. Of course I'll go to prom with you." I didn't even expect Grayson to ask me. I knew we were going with each other since we were boyfriend and girlfriend, but I loved the way he asked me. We were both gamers and for him to use a video game to ask me made it extra special.
I couldn't help it; I reached up and pulled him down to me, kissing him one more time.
_____________
Aww, Grayson is so adorable. cx
I'll probably have this book finished by either Monday or Tuesday. There are two chapters left, then it's onto the third book. I already have the book title and cover, so I'll have the first chapter up the day after I finish this book, or possibly the day of.
