*Flashback*

"Nii-san, I need your help with baseball." Jyushimatsu called out, " I have to- oh my god. Oh my god! Ichimatsu! Someone help! Please wake up Ichimatsu! No, no, no!"

An empty pill bottle rested near Ichimatsu's limp body. He was mumbling something, barely audible. Tears ran down Jyushimatsu's face, "What? Please answer me nii-san!" The rest of the brothers rushed in, a chorus of "what happened?" and "oh my god!" filling the room.

"Call an ambulance!" someone finally yelled out.

Dark figures. White walls. Bright lights. Slow, clear, rhythmic beeps. Ichimatsu's chest felt heavy, his mind numb. Tubes were inserted into Ichimatsu's arm. He tried to raise his hand up but it wasn't cooperating. He tried to ask where he was, but his mouth wasn't cooperating either. "Mmmh."A dark figure stood up suddenly, "He's awake! Oh thank god! Get in here guys!" A hushed voice came near Ichimatsu. "Hey...it's me, Osomatsu. You're in the hospital. We were so worried Ichi. You could've talked to me. I'm your older brother, you know."

"Worried about what?" Ichimatsu thought, "Me? A pile of trash? Why do they keep lying? No one cares about trash. No one." Ichimatsu attempted to focus, making his mouth connect to his brain. "I.." he spoke in a quiet and careful tone, his voice hoarse, "should've..." More dark figures surrounded him, listening in intently,"died." Ichimatsu finished.

The dark figures gasped softly. He could've sworn he heard a choked sob in there. "D-don't say that Ichimatsu!" one yelled.

"Calm down Choromastu-" another protested.

"No! How can he say that? That he should've died?! That's not okay!"

Silence. Or at least all became silent to Ichimatsu. The figures turned fuzzy.
The walls caved in. The lights became dim. The steady beeping now muffled.

Blackout.

Sniffling woke him up.

Thoughts ran through his head. "Is someone crying? Is it me? Has this just been a bad nightmare? No. Someone else is crying." Ichimatsu forced his eyes open, adjusting to the darkness of the room.

The person crying looked up suddenly from their chair across the room. "I-Ichi?" It's Jyushimatsu.

He walked over to Ichimatsu's bed, looking like a shadow of himself. Red, puffy eyes. Chapped lips. A fake smile. "How are y-you? Everyone else had to go back home, but I decided to stay for the night." Whispering, as if the sound of his voice could hurt Ichimatsu even more.

He's the one who found me.

"I...I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Jyushimatsu." Ichimatsu whispered back, feeling regretful for the first time. "I'm sorry you had to see me like that. That you have to see me like this." Tears welled up in his eyes, his emotions getting the best of him. "I-I keep messing up, I'm so sorry!" He cried out the last word, freely sobbing now. He felt pathetic. Blubbering like a child in front of his younger brother. Gentle arms wrapped themselves around Ichimatsu's shaking body.

"I'm sorry too nii-san. For not being there for you. I should've."

Ichimatsu wanted to object and say that all of this was no one's fault but his own, but just cried harder into Jyushimatsu's shoulder instead.
