Sofia the First: Five's a Crowd

The Upcoming County Fair

Princess Sofia and her older sister, Amber, were really excited because they were going to a county fair at their school, Royal Prep. Amber and her best friends, Princesses Hildegard and Clio, were looking forward to the pie contests. Sofia was looking forward to the Royal Prep flying derby race—and she was one of the riders.

"I can't wait until the county fair on Friday," said Amber.

"I'm really looking forward to the pie contest," said Hildegard.

"I can't wait to see the berry jams," said Clio.

Just then, the trio saw Sofia with her best friend, Prince Hugo, and they were both talking.

"This is going to be fun," Sofia said.

"I know, right?" Hugo agreed. "My brother got me a new flying derby uniform for the race."

"I have a new uniform too," said Sofia.

"Well, I can't wait until Friday," said Hugo. "See you then, princess."

As soon as Hugo was gone, Amber, Hildegard, and Clio went up to Sofia. "What's going on, Sofia?" asked Clio.

"Prince Hugo and I have been paired to ride in the flying derby race at the county fair," said Sofia.

"You're saying that Hugo is going to be your teammate?" Hildegard asked.

"Yes, and we're both looking forward to racing," said Sofia.

Amber had an idea. "Sofia, since you and Hugo are looking forward to the derby race, how would you like to invite him to join us?" she asked.

Hildegard and Clio thought it would be fun to include another person to join them—and they all wanted to spend time with him.

"Well, okay, Amber," said Sofia. "But since he's already gone home, I'll have to write him a letter about this."

"You do that," said Hildegard.

At home, Sofia wrote a letter for Hugo and mailed it right away. "Are you excited for the county fair on Friday?" asked her mother, Queen Miranda.

"I'm really excited," said Sofia. "And I'm inviting Prince Hugo to join me, Amber, Hildegard, and Clio."

"That's really nice of you," said Miranda.

"I'm really looking forward to the county fair and spending time with my friends," Amber said happily.

"I bet we're all looking forward to it," said Sofia.
