Faker {Epilogue}

"I can't wait to start a new year, with you guys, new chances, and maybe even new love." Tyson announced, raising his glass. "So let's toast, to a new year of opportunities." We all raised our glasses and clinked them with a smile on our faces.

BUZZ BUZZ

There's my phone again, most likely it's just Brett. Every since Christmas, he's been texting me about how he misses me. I don't mind though, I love him and I love his company.

'Almost the new year, make it special <3' says Brett. I smile at the text and immediately start to text back.

'We have four more hours, not exactly the New Years' I sent, chuckling at my own text.

'Get off your phone and enjoy New Year's Eve.' Brett texted back. I put away my phone, not bothering to even open the message.

~~9:00~~

"Hey, London, how far from town are we?" I asked.

"About..an hour. Why?"

"Oh I'm just asking." I lied. I didn't tell them I was going to leave. Not for the whole break, just...temporarily.

"You're not trying to leave us are you." Brandon laughed. I forced a laugh and checked my phone for the time. 9:36.

~~10:00~~

"Spin the bottle anyone?" Eva asked. She whipped out a bottle of mango vodka.

"I'm totally up for it!" London says, Brandon eying her.

"Yeah! I'll finish off the bottle." William announced, which took us all by surprise. 30 seconds or so later the bottle was empty and we were playing spin the bottle.

"I'll go first!" London exclaimed. She spun the bottle and we all watched as it turned round and round.

William.

While we all exchanged our attention from London and William, William was  hiccuping from the vodka he drank. London quickly kissed him and say back in her spot.

"I guess-" hiccup. "It's my-" hiccup. "Turn." William managed to say. He spun the bottle and it landed on Eva. Eva giggled and they leaned into kiss.

It was a wet and slobbery kiss, William was quick to get drunk apparently. Maybe he had a side we all didn't know about...

"Me next!" Eva said, she was totally bubbly tonight. Although she was always bubbly. She spun the bottle and it landed dead on Tyson.

They leaned over to kiss and Tyson cupped Eva's cheeks. She deepened the kiss by wrapping her hands around his neck. She soon pulled away and he pecked her on the lip one more time. Everyone looked at me and I felt kind of embarrassed, betrayed.

But I didn't show it at all. Just kept a straight face. I checked the time to see it was 10:55. If I was going to get back into town, I would need to leave soon.

"I guess it's my spin." Tyson said, eyeing me.

He spun the bottle and just like the first time, it landed on me. We looked up at each other and he started crawling my way. I don't know if he noticed or not but I was slowing inching away. I don't think this cabin was a good idea anyway..

"I have to go." I exclaimed, grabbing my phone. I got up from the floor and grab my car keys, along with my purse. I quickly got in my car and sped out of the driveway.

It was 11:32 and I was on the verge of town. I turned on my GPS and typed in the address I needed to go to. I drove through town looking at all the left over Christmas decorations. I really do wish I was here for Christmas, my family probably would have wanted to see me.

11:46 and I'm almost here, oh it'll be the best present I've given all year. Or surprise rather. I pulled into the neighborhood at around 11:50 and made my way towards the back. I didn't even know if I'd make it on time!

But soon I pulled up to the house and ran to the door, 11:59. I rang the doorbell twice and waited impatiently. I had 15 more seconds to make this perfect. The door opened and in the background I heard the TV announcer go '3..2..1 Happy New Years!'

"Happy New Years Brett." I cooed, crashing my lips onto his. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around my waist. I separated us and smiled widely.

"H-How are you here, I thought you were out in a log cabin." Brett said astonished.

"I came here, I wanted you to be my New Years kiss. I also didn't want to spend my New Years with my friends. I wanted to spend it with you." I said shyly. Brett pulled me in a tight hug and soon pulled me into the house.

"Mom! Briana's here." Brett exclaimed. I heard a pan drop in the kitchen, oh god.

"Briana?" Mrs. Anthony asked. She came to the hallway, in which we were in, and smiled once she saw me. "Oh honey, I thought you were in that cabin."

" I couldn't start the new year without you guys. You're my real family." I chuckled.

"Well I'm glad you're here, and just in time too, I made cookies." She says.

And so that's how it goes, I chose Brett over Tyson. Tyson and me would only last a while, but me and Brett will last. The school year felt short after break and we all passed. Brett and I graduated and took a vacation afterwards.

I kept close to Eva and London, the boys..not so much. After declaring I didn't love Tyson, the boys didn't find much interest in talking to me. So I just cut them off. I'd say I'm happy without them.

I'm happy with Brett. He even proposed to me after graduation, I had to say yes of course. I like the way this turned out, so what I'm a faker. Fake it till you make it right?
