Evelyn's P.O.V.

I opened my eyes but everything was blurry. "Evelyn!" "Evelyn?!" "Can you hear me?! Stay with me the pack doctor will be here soon!" I noticed the voice as Alpha Amanda's. The pain hit me and it hit hard. As I screamed I rememberes that Steven was in the car with me before I crashed. "Steven!" I sobbed. "He's fine he's with your aunt." Alpha Amanda said. I was relieved. Another wave of pain hit and it wasn't from me healing. Suddenly I felt sleepy, I was so tired so so tired and in so much pain so I welcomed the sleep with open arms.

Blake's P.O.V.

I was in my room with Jessica when there was a frantic knock on the door. I opened it seeing Jason standing there. I was annoyed with him for interrupting me. "What?!" I yelled. "The rogues they attacked Evelyn and Steven. There on there way back we have to meet them on the border." He said in fear. I could tell he wasn't scared of the rogues he feared what they would do to Evelyn and Steven. "I'll down stairs in a minute." I said and he left. I quickly put on my sweat pants and ran down stairs to join the others. As soon as we walked out side Evelyn's car appeared out of no where and crashed into a tree. Evelyn was thrown out the car through the windshield and landed with a sickening thud fifty feet away from the car. No one could move it was like we were in shock. My mom came running out and when straight to Evelyn's car and pulled a very scared but safe Steven out and handed him to Tia. Then she ran to Evelyn. Evelyn had landed on her side facing away from us so we had no clue if she was alive or not. "You!" my wolf said extremely angry. "We were suppose to protect her! Now look she's barely alive!" My wolf began to sob. I've never heard him cry before and to be honest I didn't like it. "Call the pack doctor!" My mom screamed. "She has a pulse but it's faint!" My mom said turning Evelyn over. Jason ran into the pack house and called the doctor. I took a step closer and then I heard bone chilling screams. Evelyn screamed for her brother and I heard my mom tell her he was ok. The was a moment of silence before Evelyn screamed again and then there was nothing no screams and her eyes closed. My heart stopped. "Evelyn!" My mom frantically screamed while checking her pulse. "Evelyn! Oh no Evelyn!" My mom began to sob. I couldn't move I wanted to be couldn't. The pack doctor pulled into the drive way and ran towards Evelyn with a machine. He checked her pulse. Then Charged the machine. "Clear." He said while trying to bring her back. "Clear." he said once again then checking her pulse. He charged the machine again. "Clear." Nothing happen. I looked around to see everyone in tears. Jason and the guys were crying whiched shocked the hell out of me. No matter who died they never shed a tear I mean never but here they were balling at the lost of Evelyn. I still couldn't believe she was gone. "One more time." The pack doctor said and charged the machine. "Clear." He waited a few more seconds and checked her pulse. "Get her into the pack house now." "She's alive for now." He said. I ran to Evelyn and picked her up and carried her into the pack house. I looked down at Evelyn as I carried her. She was indeed beautiful every thing about her was. I carried her up the stair and into her room. I gently laid her on the bed. Once more I looked down at her. She was so small compaired to me. She couldn't have been no taller that five foot two and weighted no more than one twenty five. She was tiny not in an unhealthy way.She was extremely healthy. "Our mate is tiny but she's strong." My wolf said gushing with pride. "I know." Was all I could say. Jason burst through the door carrying the hospital equipment. Following him was Zeke, Chris, Mark, James, Ian, Sam and the pack doctor. He began telling them where to sit stuff. He started up the monitors. He hooked her up to Two IV's. "One for pain and the other is so she doesn't dehydrated." He said pointing to each one. All the guys were leaning against the wall looking at Evelyn with hopeful and sad eyes. "How can they feel so strongly about a person they barely know?" I thought to myself. "Boy you're stupid. She's a sweet person that they've all spent time with and has gotten to know her. They love her like a sister." My wolf said both annoyed and angry. "We were suppose to protect her." Zeke sobbed. "Yea some brothers we are." Jason said as tears ran down his face. "I wouldn't blame her if she hated all of us after this." Sam said. "I don't think she will hate anybody she's not the type to hate anyone." I said. "Look who's talking the one person that is suppose to protect her and love her doesn't give two shits about her." Ian said and I was shocked. "How did he know?" I asked myself. "Yea we all knew it wasn't a secret. As many times as Evelyn tried to advoid our questions about it. We knew." Ian said again. "Look at you. You're not even upset or angry that she almost died. Correction she did die." Ian was pissed. "I'm not even sure if you deserve Evelyn as a mate she's too good for you." Ian said shaking his head. "I fucking know already. I know I'm not the best mate I know this already I know she deserves more." I said I would have yelled but Evelyn was resting. "I know I fucked up as a mate I know I was suppose to protect her." Tears began falling down my face. Images of Evelyn laying on the ground lifeless. What if she would have never been able to be revived? What if instead of us arguing about he almost dying we were arguing about funeral arrangements? What if we were putting her in the ground in a few days instead of waiting on her to wake up? What If I never saw her again? A ton of images flashed in my mind and at that I broke down. I couldn't deny it no more I loved her even though I fought myself and told myself I didn't in reality I loved her. I felt a hand on my shoulder. "She's going to be ok, she's a fighter." Jason said as he pat my shoulder. "We'll be later to check on her." Ian said. "I'll let you know if anything changes." I said looking at Evelyn. They all nodded and left. I sighed and sat down on the bed beside Evelyn. "I should have never rejected you." I told her even though I knew she couldn't hear me. "I promise you I'll protect you with my life. From this moment forward you're stuck with me."

It's been two months and Evelyn still hasn't woken up. The pack doctor says she will when she's ready but I'm getting impatient. She's suppose to be up and playing jokes on the guys like she normally would, joking and laughing. The pack house isn't the same without her awake and well. I stepped out the shower and got dressed quickly. When I reached Evelyn's door I turned the knob and went in. Evelyn laid there peacefully. "I wish she would wake up." I sighed. I held her hand and kissed it. "We need to run for a bit." My wolf said. "We can't leave her right now." "I know but we haven't went for a run since she's be like this and us being future alpha we need to keep our strength up." He said and it made sense I just didn't want to leave her. I didn't reply to him I just sat there in silence looking at my beautiful mate until somebody knocked on the door. "Come in." I replied to the knocking. "Hey bro. How's it going?" I looked up and saw Jason standing and staring at Evelyn. I sighed, "The same she's still not showing no signs that she will wake up." "Just be patient she's wake up soon." He said placing a hand on my shoulder. "I know but it's the waiting part that's getting to me. I know she'll wake up eventually but I want it to be now." I said holding back tears. "Man I think you should go for a run." Jason spoke breaking my train of thought. " "I can't leave her alone." I said shaking my head. "Don't worry man I'll sit here while you run." I began to protest but was interrupted. "Dude just go no excuses." Jason said pointing to the door. "Ok I won't be long." I said walking out the door.
