Couple of Weeks Later

Kat's P.O.V

I watched the dog. Tommy just laid there on his bed panting. I just couldn't figure it out. Only a few days ago he was a tiny, fluffy fuzz ball. Now he's as big as a full grown labrador. When we took him to the vet they said he was a month old. Later we scheduled a date for him to get his shots. A different veterinarian said he was about a year.

I was so perplexed. I was startled out of my thought when Alister touched my arm. I looked at him with a hopeful expression. With a smile I asked, "Are you okay?"

He looked away and faced the pup. In a small voice he murmered, "I don't know."

"What?" I wasn't quiet sure of what he said.

"Hm?" he said facing me. "Oh. Yeah, I'm fine."

I gave him a sceptical look. He was lying. As of late he was falling apart. Sometimes once a week or everyday. He would cry, get mad, break something, or just hide. He hardly ever spoke and constantly left the house. Sometimes for hours at a time. I was concerned, but every time I tried to receive answers, he would shut me out or tell me some lame excuse. It was worrying me, but I was afraid of starting a fight.

I shook my head and turned away. In a quiet voice, I muttered to Tommy, "What is up with you?"

Alister jumped away and gave me a crazed look. I looked at him liked he'd lost his mind. Within that moment Tommy started to make yipping noises and barks. While he did our eyes met and I was sucked in.

When I opened my eyes I was in utter blackness. Under my feet was a shiny black floor. I spun around in fear. Where was I? I looked into the blackness, but found nothing. I was startled by a deep voice that boomed at me.

"Kat." it called. I jumped and looked for the source. As it called to me again I heard the faint sound of barking through the words. Then it struck me and I tentatively called out. "Tommy?"

"Yes Kat. It's you."

I jumped again, but quickly composed myself. A deep chuckle erupted throughout the blackness. I steadied myself and stood tall before calling out again. "Tommy, I'm confused. What's going on and where am I?"

I heard a muffled bark before the voice spoke. "This is my mind. You can enter it and speak to me because of your Kuro Yeou."

"Kuro Yeou?" I asked puzzled. "I thought it was just a Yeou."

"No. Kuro Yeou because you are the black fox. You are untamed and the slightest thing could set it off and you'd go on a killing spre. When you harness the darkness and have it cast away you will be the Shiro Yeou. The white fox. You will then be...well, good. And as for why I am growing so fast...is because of your power. The yeou's power, energy, is enhancing my ability to grow, hear, see, my mind has become more advanced, and I am as strong as a tank. Plus I will be bigger than most dogs."

I rubbed the back of my neck and sighed. "This is a lot to take in. A lot. So if this is your mind...then why are you ....in a dark room?"

I heard a deep rumble of laughter. "It's simple for a visitor. I made it this way because only your yeou can see my spirit, but-sadly-not you as a human. Until you are one with your yeou you cannot see my soul. Until you can see through her eyes you will be blind to the world unseen."

I nodded. I was still overwhelmed by all of this, but it opened doors and gave me a wider view of this Yeou thing. I was still confused on the finding myself and all. It'll come in good time though. I hoped.

"You might want to go now. Our talk is done." he said.

Alister's P.O.V

I was startled when a low sound of and animal escaped Kat's lips. I jumped back and gave her a look of 'What the krill'. She looked at me in confusion before turning back to Tommy. He had begun to bark and yip. As he did I saw her eyes glaze over as well as his. Her body stiffened, but she said nothing.
