Bitter Break Up

Kat's P.O.V

I stood there in shock. He was leaving? Him, Alister, my husband.....was leaving. He didn't say we. He said he was leaving. Meaning...meaning he was leaving me. My mouth dropped open and I uttered a single word. "What?!"

He sighed and ran a hand through his growing hair. "Kathren...I'm leaving. I have to. I'll be back. I just don't know when."

I took a step back as he advanced towards me. How can he leave me? After all thar has happened...and why? Why was he leaving? I looked at him and asked, "Why? Why are you leaving me?"

"I'm not leaving you!" he shouted. I jumped back. "I'm going for revenge. Retaliation. I have to do it. It's the only way to end this hatred. Once I do...we'll be done. With all of this."

"No! You could be killed! Don't do it. If they come for us then you can kill them, but don't chase them. It won't end well." I countered.

Anger filled his features. "Damn it Kathren! You don't understand! I am leaving!"

Alister's P.O.V

I glared at her and my anger rose. I restrained from hitting something. Instead I decided to yell. "Damn it Kathren! You don't understand! I am leaving!"

Her mouth dropped open, but I wasn't done. The demon had taken over. I pointed a finger at her. "They don't deserve to live. Look at what they have done to us! They murdered our only, your only, child! They deserve to die!"

"Alister, it's not safe. You could get killed! Listen to me!" she screamed.

I walked up to her until she was pushed against the wall and glared down at her. In a low voice I said, "No. You listen to me. I. Have. To. Do. This."

She flinched and backed farther into the wall. I was scarring her. Yet, I couldn't stop. I was angry. My heart was bitter and she wasn't listening to what I was saying.

I cast her one last glare then stormed up the stairs. I heard her call after me but I ignored her cries and slammed and locked the door. Soon she came knocking on the door. Well, slamming her fist against it. As she did, she screamed at me. I tuned her out and packed.

I grabbed a few t-shirts and two pairs of jeans. I didn't need much. This was going to be quick. Then I ripped up one of the floor boards near the window. Underneath was a black duffle bag. I pulled it out and emptied its contents.

Grabbing the the knife I found in the cave, nun chucks, a couple of knives, and a small hand gun. After packing those in my bag I swung the door open. Kat stood outside crying. Hurt filled her eyes, mixed with fear and anger. It pained me to see her like this, but I had to do this.

Kat's P.O.V

I ran up the stairs after him to see him slam the door shut. Tears of anger and fear fell down my face. He couldn't leave. He can't leave. I had a feeling something bad was going to happen. I had to stop him. I couldn't believe he was leaving me. What was he trying to prove? That he was a big man? He was being irrational. Stupid.

The door swung open and I pounded my fist into his chest. I had to stop him from leaving. I had to. He couldn't leave. I couldn't let him. Something could go wrong. "Don't go! It's not safe Alister! Please listen to me!"

"No!" he said sharply and grabbed my wrist. "I'm done listening. I have to do this."

With that his lips crashed down on mine. He pushed me against the wall and the kiss deepened. I had to use this to my advantage. As he began to pull away, I grabbed his face in my hands and kissed him. It was an angry, passionate kiss. He crushed me against him. Then I felt the heat radiate off of him. It was scorching like fire. It burned me and filled me with anger and the will to take revenge. He bit my lip and pulled away. Leaving me gasping and burning.

His gaze softened as he said in a quiet voice, "I love you." and he started to walk down the stairs.

I chased after him and screamed, "No you don't!" He spun around so quickly that I almost fell over. "You don't love me or you would be staying!"

He balled his fist and glowered down at me.

Alister's P.O.V

I pinned her against the wall and kissed her. Fire burned through me and through a crack in my eye, I saw my skin glow and it spread into her. I tried to pull away, but she kissed me again. It was a firey kiss and not due to our heating skin. On that note my skin grew hotter and hotter. I felt like I was burning up from the inside out. I looked at our skin. Mine was a blood red and hers was a light orange. I had to end this.

I bit her lip slightly and pulled away. She slumped against the wall, gasping. Sweat covered her slightly shaken body. My gaze softened and I whispered, "I love you," and walked away.

She chased after me and shouted, "No you don't!" her words hit me like a semi. I spun around to see her stumble. She glared at me and said in a deadly tone, "You don't love me or you would be staying!"

I balled my fist. How dare she say that? After all this was for her and our son. She has no right. Well if she thinks I don't love her then fine. I'll let her think that. In anger, I ripped off my wedding ring and threw it on the ground. "There. Remember I don't love you right? Now you can believe it in your head. Even though it's not true."

Her face crumpled and tears fell down her face. I've never seen her look so broken. It killed me to see her that way. I wanted to just grab her and hold her, but I couldn't. I had to leave. I had to quench the thirst of my hatred. If she only knew, she'd understand. She doesn't. She won't even try. That infuriated me even more.

In one smooth motion, I ran down the stairs. I heard her call out behind me. As I opened the door to leave, I caught her last words. They stung me and made me feel like I was dying.

"I hate you!"

Kat's P.O.V

He glared at me and his skin became a firey color. His eyes blazed as he tensed up. In a swift motion, he jerked off his wedding ring and threw it at my feet.

Hurt ripped my heart apart. I felt like my heart had been ripped right out of my chest. I couldn't breathe or think. All I could do was stand there and stare at his ring at my feet. How could he? Pain wrenched my heart apart. I've never felt this kind of hurt. Not even when my child died. I'd rather be beaten to a pulp then have him do this. Hurt me like this. Then it only got worse.

I saw a glimpse of sorrow in his eyes before they became ablazed once more and he said in a cruel voice, "There. Remember I don't love you right? Now you can believe it in your head. Even though it's not true."

Then he stormed down the stairs. I followed him, shouting meaningless words. Once he opened the door, I shouted the words that hit home.

"I hate you!"

He paused for a moment before slamming the door behind him. As he left, I let out a scream. The scream held hurt and anger. I twirled something in my hand. I looked down to see his ring glimmering between my fingers. He left me. He really left.

Then a smirk played on my lips. He didn't tell me to stay. I grinned and grabbed the keys. He's walking? Wow. Just then a heard a car and dunked behind a bush. It was a beat up truck; driven by Alister. I smirked and ran to the car. This was too easy.

Alister's P.O.V

I heard her scream as I walked down the street. Tears filled my eyes and pooled out. It hurt mw horribly ro see her like that. What hurt the most was that she had no faith in me. She didn't believe I could do this. She thought I would fail and be killed. So little faith. Well, I'll prove her wrong.

I walked a little ways until I saw a tattered truck. Looking around, I neared the truck. Never stole a car before, I thought. Don't knock it until you try it.

After stealing the truck, I roared down the road. As I passed my house, I looked at it. Inside that house my wife sat on the floor crying. My heart tore. I had to go on.
