The plane ride was a disaster, his uncle's house was old and creaky and Matthew Williams missed his papa.
It was amazing how much his life had changed in just a few hours.
Arthur promised on the plane that things would go back after a few weeks, that him and Francis just needed some time apart. But that didn't mean they had to separate Matthew from his twin.
And what about Peter? He was so young, only eight. What would this do to him.
He, of course, was with them. Even though he claimed to be a "big boy who could take care of himself" he still jumped on the chance to go to Nova Scotia with his brother and dad. It was probably the concept of travel that really drew him in.
But really...how could Nova Scotia be considered exotic? What could possibly be interesting about a peninsula that only offered wale watching and lobster.
Alister was cool at least. He came up to Ottawa a few times over the holidays. He always told them stories about his days living in Scotland and even played the bagpipes for them. At least until the neighbours started yelling at them.
"Hey, Mattie, dinner's ready." Peter pounded on the door to the room Matthew was unpacking his things in, causing the blonde to groan. Great. A dinner cooked by Burney Burnitall and Hagus Breath Harry. This would be fun.
Matthew put down the shirt he was folding and opened the door. "Y'know...we share this room. You don't gotta knock, bud."
"I'm used to it, though! You and Alfred always yell at me when I come in your room."
Matthew smiled softly and knelt at his younger sibling's side. He put a hand on his shoulder. "Listen, just feed the food to Kuma. I'll make you something as soon as Ginger and Eyebrows aren't looking."
Peter nodded and hugged his sibling tightly. "We only have to survive for a few weeks. Don't worry."
The Canadian nodded and turned around so his brother could climb on his back like he used to. The boy giggled, especially when they bounded down the stairs.
"Not in the house, boys." Arthur scolded, barely glancing up from his needlework.
"Let them be, brother. They're jest 'aving fun."
Matthew laughed and set Peter down in an empty chair before sitting at his side. He looked down at the plates of food set out for them.
He caught his younger brother's eye before whispering as quiet as he could. "Wish me luck."

I wasn't gonna use Sealand originally but I'm glad I did.
