He and Lexi just looked at me. "Little fox what do you mean this could feed 10 werefoxs?" Liam asked me.

"Well we are told that we can only eat a certain amount of food. We always knew that other packs had different standards of course but ours was were we were able to function or eat just a small portion of food." I stated.

Lexi just was watching us with careful eyes. I could tell she wanted to say something but wasn't going to because of her alpha. I wanted her to speak her mind. Then someone, male, walked into the room. He looked at me and I saw an emotion of recognition go through his eyes. "Wren. Little Wren, is that you?" the man asked.

"How do you know my name? Who are you?" I asked strongly but I was shaking in fear, on the inside of course. Liam was standing there stiff as a board. I couldn't understand why this man was thinking I knew him from somewhere. "Only family and friends called me that."

"Of course, you wouldn't know me. I was your protector. Before I was called back to find my mate." He looked lovingly at Lexi for a secound before turning back to me. "I'm Jefferson."

"Seriously? My protector? That is very far fetched." I said to the man.

"Wren you are very special. Why else would you be paired with a werewolf, with me? Just accept it that you are unique." Liam said.

"If you believe that then you are so wrong. I can't be anything other than a normal werefox. I was supposed to mate with Deriek as that was the elders choice for me. I am not your mate! Werewolfs and werefoxes can not be mates! It is impossible!" I said with tears that rolled down my face. "You killed the only people I trusted. How can I trust you now?"

"Wren, you better watch what you say to him. He doesn't have the best temper." Lexi says. I only looked at him and watched. When I saw that my words had sunk in, I saw it. I saw the anger and frustration. "Wren... I don't understand why you have to be so difficult on this. We are mates every if you don't think we are because of how you were raised then that is you fault. I know that you are my mate and I was willing to take you to see your family but now I am not so sure." He said.

I watched him for a few minutes before I turned out of the room and ran up the stairs. He said what he wanted to, and those few words said more than they meant to say.

I was back home. We were starting the mating process and then the screams and growls started. I watched as people just went down and I watched as my father fell into death. "NO!" I screamed. Then it all changed. I was in a cellar. Other werefoxes were there. I saw my mother chained to the wall and bloody. I tried to call out to her but I couldn't.

"Well now what do we have here? The prophesied fox shifter? We know Wren that you are Alpha Liam's mate... oh wait you don't know about that werewolf yet. Don't worry you will. Soon he will come for you... but you won't remember this. You won't remember being here or being the prophesied little fox." A man in the shadows said.

I woke up in fear of this man. I looked at the clock to see that it was only one thirty. I didn't see Liam so I guessed that he was in his home office. I got up and walked down to his office. I was just outside his door, when I heard two voices in the room.

"She is my mate. I will get her to see that somehow." Liam said.

"I know that but she is scared to death right now. You can see that right? She won't believe anything right now because it is the way the brain works. Show her that she can trust you." Jefferson, I think his name is, said back at him.

"She is at the door. Do you think she could have heard our conversation?" I then hear chairs scratching the hardwood. I stepped back a little when the door opened and I saw Liam. "Hey Little Fox. Are you okay? Did something happen?" He asked concerned.

"I... uh can come back. You are busy." I said hopeing that he wouldn't stop me.

Jefferson stepped foreword and said, "I should be getting back home to Lexi. I will see you later Alpha." With that he walked out of the house.

"Wren... what happened?" Liam asked me as he tilted my head up. I saw his brown eyes were filled with worry. "I had a nightmare. It started out with the attack on my skulk and then to a cellar. I wasn't the only one there. There were other werefoxes there, including my mother. A man said that we were mates and that I was some sort of prophesied fox. He said I wouldn't remember that or being there. He scared me Liam." I said as I started to look down at the floor so he wouldn't see my tears. He wrapped his large arms around me and whispered that everything would be alright. The thing that confused me was that I felt safe in his embrace.

We stood there for a few minutes like that before he pulled slightly away so that I could see his face. "Wren why don't we try to get a few hours of sleep? I promise that no one will hurt you or get to you." He guided me back up to his room and within minutes of lying down in his arms I was asleep again. This time no nightmares came to me. No dreams came to me.

I woke before him and just thought about what he said the night before to me. I just didn't know what to think of it.
