"The babysitter was totally trying to flirt with you," Lauren laughed, disguising her nerves by linking her hand in Harry's to hopefully make them stop shaking.
"No he wasn't, he was trying to be friendly," Harry chuckled. They were walking towards the door of the little coffee shop that Stevie had said to meet the two at.
"Harry. The boy couldn't get any gayer, even if he walked around town playing 'Same Love' and making out with a dude."
"Considering we live in a pretty Christian town, I'm pretty sure he would be stoned or something."
"Stoned? it's not BC times, Harry."
"Either way, Laur."
She blushed at the new nickname he has started calling her. It's pretty new, and she really liked it. Her family always called her "L" growing up, but never Laur.
They were getting closer and closer to the shop, and Lauren knew he could feel the sweat on her palms.
They walked in, and Harry looked around. "It looks like she's not here yet."
Lauren didn't mean to, but she let out a sigh of relief. She's been dreading this, and the moment is about to come.
They had found a small table for four people and sat next to each other to Stevie could sit across from them.
"This is really nerve wracking. Last time I saw her, she was pregnant, but I didn't even know it," Harry said, his knee bouncing up and down underneath the small, wooden table.
Lauren's eyes didn't leave the door for more than a few seconds. This is the mother to the child she has been taking care of for the past two months. It wasn't just any child either, it was her boyfriend's child. The love of her life's child.
There was a small woman that walked in and Harry elbowed Lauren. "That's her."
She looked very small and frail, but not sickly. She had platinum blonde hair and dark roots growing through on her scalp. Her eyes were a shifted color, almost as if they were transitioning from blue to brown. A pair of skinny jeans covered her tiny, tiny legs, and a big, grey sweatshirt read 'Wisconsin' across the front of it.
Lauren had to admit, she was pretty. Okay, she was stunning. Even in a lazy outfit, Stevie outshone her. Her jealousy couldn't help but kick in.
The small girl walked over towards the two her almost violet eyes were wide at them. 'Harry? That's you?"
She had an American accent. Of course she did it says Wisconsin on her hoodie, dumbass.
"Yeah, it's me. Looks like you've dyed your hair again," he said awkwardly. Harry was nervous, and was not very good at hiding it.
"Harry, it's just me, you don't need to act scared," Stevie slightly smiled at him, taking a seat across from the both of us.
She cleared her throat to get the rest of the table's attention, and to let them know she was about to speak, "So I'm guessing this is your girlfriend?"
