A/N This story is set when Thomas doesn't know that he is Douglas' father. Caroline is starting to feel overwhelmingly guilty about keeping the truth from him.

"Caroline," Thomas said casually as he walked towards Caroline. Caroline put her pencil down and  smiled at Thomas.

"Thomas," Caroline replied mischievously. Was it wrong that she sort of had feelings for Thomas- despite being married to Ridge, after all he was the actual father of her child.

"Where's dad?" Thomas asked, looking around the tidy office. Caroline shrugged and continued sketching.

"Uhh, I think he went to go meet with someone," Caroline answered calmly, turning around to see Thomas. Thomas nodded before looking over Caroline's shoulder at the dress she had been designing.

"Hm, I like it but maybe if you dropped the waistline and made the sleeves a bit longer," Caroline turned back to her design and decided Thomas was right.

"Yeah, I see what you're saying- why don't you finish it for me?" Caroline grab the sketch and held it in front of Thomas.

"You tryna get rid of me, Caroline?" Thomas' voice darkened. Caroline quickly looked away and cleared her throat. Every time she talked to Thomas she was closer and closer to revealing the truth. He was Douglas' father- not Ridge.

"N-n-no!" Caroline stuttered defensively as she got up and placed her hands on Thomas' arms to reassure what she said was true. "-I just think that," Caroline stopped, aware of how close she was to Thomas. Dangerously close. Her heart began to beat faster and faster. Before she even knew what she was doing she found her lips on Thomas' lips. She moved her hands up to his face as she continued kissing her son-in-law.

"Oh my gosh- what am I doing!" Caroline squealed as she pushed Thomas away from her, turning away from him. She couldn't even seem to look him in the eyes.

"Caroline-" Thomas said, trying to understand Caroline's sudden change of mood. One minute she was all over him and the next she wouldn't even look at him. "Why were you kissing me? Do you want me or not?" Thomas asked, getting increasingly frustrated. Caroline felt a tear slip down her cheek. She turned around and finally managed to look at Thomas.

"You were kissing me to, Thomas!" Caroline cried, fearfully. "Do you not realize how wrong this is?!" Thomas held Caroline as he tried to comfort her. Caroline closed her eyes. Why did Thomas make her feel safe in a way that Ridge didn't? Why couldn't she resist Thomas all of a sudden? Caroline ran to the door, making sure it was locked before looking back towards Thomas.

"What's going Caroline? What are you trying to-" Thomas was cut off as Caroline ran up to him and continued kissing him. Thomas kissed Caroline back, stroking her short blonde hair. Caroline stopped kissing Thomas and looked into his eyes.

"There's something I have to tell you," Caroline said softly as a huge amount of worry consumed her. How the hell would Thomas react? Thomas' expression quickly turned into concern. "Douglas- is your kid," Caroline felt a huge burden fall off her shoulders, but another burden seemed to fall on her. Ridge. He was going to crack when he finds out Thomas knows. Thomas was confused and shocked.

"What the hell Caroline? I asked you that months ago and you lied straight to my face!" Thomas shouted as quietly as he could so Pam wouldn't hear and start eavesdropping.

"I'm sorry," Caroline said before running out of the office knowing she'd stuffed up. She'd ruined everything. It was only a matter of time before everyone knew the truth now.
