*SKIP AHEAD A FEW MONTHS, ABOUT HALF A YEAR*

*Nash and Caroline have been dating for about half a year months and are starting to really develop feelings for each other.*

*Nash's POV*

I have been thinking about my mom lately. A lot. It's been almost a year since I've seen or heard from her. I just want to know that she is okay. Or alive. Or anything, at least hear her voice. Or her tell me why she left me instead of trying to stop using. I guess eventually the drugs became more important than her own family.

I headed out the door to pick up Caroline. We were going to a restaurant to celebrate Valentine's day. I went up to her front door of her apartment, rang the doorbell and there she was. Damn she's hot.

"Ready to go?" I asked. We got in the car and went to a fancy restaurant, instead of the usual pizza place. In the middle of eating and having a good time, I got a call. From the hospital.

"Hello?"

"Hello, is this Mr.Grier?"

"I'm calling to inform you about your grandmother. We got buzzed on the life alert and she is with us now. She fell, and had a mild heart attack. But this kind isn't a one time thing. She will need to be under urgent care at all times. She is very sick. I'm sorry."

"I'll be right there." My grandmother has been sick, but I didn't realize how bad it was getting. Good thing I got her the life alert, or she could have died.

"What's going on?" Caroline asked.

"It's my grandmother. She had a heart attack and she's in the hospital. I'm all she has left in the family. She's all I have left in the family. I really need to go see her. I'm sorry."

"Can I come with you?" Wow. This girl is amazing. Most girls would be pissed I'm leaving dinner, but she wants to come with me to the hospital.

"Yes, that would be great actually." We ran out to my car, leaving behind a check for the waiter. We drove quickly to the hospital. When we got there, we ran in, side by side. I went to the registration desk and asked for Annie Grier.

"Are you Mr. Grier?"

"Yes."

"Okay, Ill let you up. She's been asking for you. Room 316."

We ran to the elevator and went up to the third floor. When we got off, we walked to her room. The doctor was in there talking to her.

"Here's my grandson, Doctor Smith. Oh, and the lovely Caroline," my grandma said with a warm smile. I walked over to her and hugged her.

"I'm so happy you're okay, Gram," I said.

Doctor Smith walked over to me and said quietly, "Mr. Grier, if it's okay, may I have a word with you in the hall?"
