By the time I make it to my door, my cheeks are stinging and I know they're bright red. I fling open the door and walk inside, quickly. I immediately plop down on the couch and I hear Carter walk up to me.
"Raven." Carter sits next to me. "Were you with him?" I nod and lay back on the couch. "What did he do to you?" He asks, confused. I shake my head.
"Nothing. Just... Just the fact that he's him... I don't even know.." I can't help but smile. He turns to me and just looks into my eyes.
"You still have feelings for him?" He asks, cautiously. I nod and look down. I close my eyes. "Well, you have a date tonight. I say you get drunk, get laid, and forget about him." Carter claps his hands together with a smug smile. I roll my eyes at him,
"Easy for you. I swear you've never had feelings for anyone. Just lust."
"That's not true!" He gasps. "There was this girl, Sydney, in eighth grade." I glare at him and he immediately laughs. "Okay, but still. Jack will be perfect to get your mind off Levi. And if he doesn't work, I'm always here." He winks at me and leans in dangerously close to me.
"No thanks, Carter." I immediately push him away and stand up. "Is Sage here?" He shakes his head, no.
"Just you. And me." He stands up and begins walking over to me.
"Great." I roll my eyes and grab a glass for water. He sighs and plops down on a stool.
"Hey, what's so bad about me?" He asks. I glare at him and sit down on the counter.
"Nothing. But you're my friend."
"So? Friends bang." I take a moment and stare at him.
"Carter, are you actually trying to get in my pants or are you trying to keep your pride by knowing that I'd have sex with you?" I ask and he takes a moment to respond.
"Well..."
"Exactly." I say and slide off the counter and walk to my room,
"So is that a yes?" He rushes in after me.
"Carter! Oh my god. Yes, okay? Happy?" He raises an eyebrow and smirks at me.
"Very." He sends me a wink and walks out. I can't help but laugh as I close the door behind him. That boy needs some action quick before he comes after me. Carter's always been this way with me. He's always been flirty and he's wanted to bang me ever since he met me, but in a joking way. I hope. I check my phone to see that it's already 5. I must've spent quite some time with Levi, I have an hour until Jack comes to pick me up. I sigh and open my closet. I'm not sure how to dress, and I'm not sure if I'm close enough to Jack to call and ask that, but I pick up the phone, anyway.
"Hey Jack." I say as soon as he picks up.
"Hey Raven, everything okay?" I can't help but laugh to myself.
"Yeah, I was just wondering where we were going tonight so I can dress appropriately." I hear him chuckle,
"Well, we can just go casual tonight. We'll save that fancy shit for another time."
Another time.
He really does want to get close to me, doesn't he?
"Yeah, okay! Sounds great! I'll see you in an hour." So I hang up and throw on black jeans and a cute top. I slide on my heels and take one last look in the mirror and finally walk out to the living area to see Carter sitting, watching tv.
"Wow. You look hot." He turns to me with a smirk.
"Yeah, thanks. Don't you have somewhere to be?" I ask, annoyed. He shakes his head,
