Epilogue
Two years later...
It is 5pm and I am walking along the streets of Binondo in a local tour. I was enjoying the history and the food of the Filipino-Chinese community when we encountered a road block.
There are a lot of people in the street. Is there a festival or something?
"What's happening? Is there a festival or something?" I voiced out my curiosity to the tour guide.
"I don't think so." he said.
"What's going on?"
"Hey, are you Haru Villacorte?" asked the tour guide.
"Yeah, I am."
He didn't answer me but he pulled me into a clearing in the crowd.
No words can express what I am feeling right now. After two years, the person that I am longing for to see is right in front of me.
He was in the middle of the clearing, surrounded by flowers. He was standing there, smiling.
I walked towards him. We were three feet apart now. That is when he kneeled and took out a ring.
"I know we've been apart for a pretty long time but now that you're standing in front of me, the distance and time we spent apart feels just like yesterday. I've longed for the day that we'll be together again. And I want for that day to be the start of the rest of my life."
I didn't realize that tears we streaming from my eyes.
"I love you Haru."
I'm speechless.
"Will you marry me?"
I can't speak. The tears overwhelmed me. He overwhelmed me.
I tried my hardest to say the word that I want to say. That word he longs to hear.
"Y-yes."
When he heard that, he put the ring on my finger then he hugged me and whispered "I love you".
"I love you." i whispered back.
Then he kissed me passionately.
Like what he said, this day is the start of our forever together.
