He quickly searched the trees, but it was too late. A small group of grounders jumped from the trees and started their attack on the sky people.
Murphy stopped dead in his tracks, causing Adam and Finn to walk into the back of him.
"Murp-"
"Shh."
All three boys stood silently.
"Did you hear that? Gunshots. The others are being attacked!" Finn charged past Adam, running towards Clarke's screams, but his heart sank when they suddenly stopped.
"Why has she stopped screaming?"
Finn turned to Murphy.
"Because... Maybe they killed her Finn. They're Grounders most likely. They don't want us here."
Finn launched at Murphy, but Adam grabbed hold of him from behind and held him back.
"This isn't going to help the others." Adam reminded them, and Murphy was quick to run to their friends.
"Clarke?"
Bellamy, with a blood covered face and a stab wound on his cheek, hovered over an unconscious Clarke, as he tried waking her up, failing every time. He quickly scooped her up into his arms, unable to stop staring at the large cut on her head.
"Let's get you home Princess."
He asked Jaspar and Wells if they were alright, but they were more concerned about Clarke.
"She's out cold, but still breathing" Wells said as he checked her pulse quickly.
"Well then let's get her back. You two think you can carry on hunting?"
"Yea, we managed to kill those Grounders, some how, without getting injured too much. You take her back Bellamy." Jaspar replied, picking up his gun and walking off with Wells.
"Clarke?! What the fu!k did you do to her Bellamy?!"
Bellamy stood still, adjusting Clarke in his arms.
"We got fuck!ng attacked by Grounders Finn. Wells and Jaspar have gone to hunt. I'm taking Clarke back to the drop ship."
"No. I think I'll take it from here." Finn tried to take Clarke into his own arms, but Bellamy quickly moved away and began walking back towards the drop ship, walking past Adam and Murphy.
"Hey. Can you guys take Finn and carry on the hunt?"
"Yea sure. But Bellamy, get her back to safety."
"I will Murphy. Be back before sundown."
"I'm going with you Blake."
With that, Bellamy walked back to the dropship, with Finn close behind.
"I can't believe you let her come with us."
"You know what Spacewalker? Clarke and I run things round here, so all decisions are made by the both of us, ok? The hunting was her idea. She didn't want to stay behind."
"Yea, you could have still stopped her! She wouldn't be in this state if you had of left without telling her Blake!"
"We can't live like that Finn! We need communication if we want to survive down here."
Finn knew Bellamy was right and he didn't say another word all the way back to the dropship.
"Open the gate!" Bellamy shouted as he ran her in side and called for Monty.
Monty ran through the door, stopping as soon as he saw Clarke.
"What happened?!"
"Grounders. We were attacked. They fell from the trees and jumped on her. The others carried on hunting."
"Ok. Thanks Bellamy. I'll clean up her wounds and call for you as soon as she's awake."
"Thank you. And Monty? The radio?"
He looked to the ground, shaking his head.
Bellamy knew what would happen to him if they got the radio working, but also knew that they needed supplies. And fast. He stayed in his tent, unable to sleep, unable to move.
Back in medical, Clarke began to wake up, unable to open her eyes. Her head was splitting in pain with each movement. She hissed and brought her hand up to her forehead, where she felt a large cut.
"Princess?"
"Bellamy?"
She heard a sigh and felt someone get up.
"No, it's Finn. I'll go get Bellamy."
She heard the door close behind him and she lay back down on the bed.
"Sh!t this hurts."
She heard the door open again.
"She called for you." Finn was blunt and Clarke soon heard the door close again.
"Clarke?"
She opened her eyes, slightly confused that Bellamy had called her by her actual name and not 'Princess', she tried to sit up.
"No, no! Stay there."
Despite his words, Clarke managed to sit herself up in bed.
She looked at him, seeing the cuts on his own face.
"I heard you called for me..." He had that stupid smirk on his face.
"What happened?" She ignored him as she lifted her hand to his cheek, running her thumb over the cut.
"We got attacked by Grounders. The rest of the boys went back to hunting, while me and Finn brought you back. Well, I brought you back, while Spacewalker followed, complaining about how I shouldn't have let you come with us."
She just sighed as she took ahold of his hand, gently squeezing. "Thank you."
"What for?"
"For not leaving me there to die. I know we didn't start out on the best of terms, but thank you."
"I wouldn't leave any of our people out there to die if I could help them. You know that..."
Clarke sighed, feeling not as special as she did a few minutes ago. She wanted to think Bellamy thought more of her than just one of the 100.
"...especially you."
The last part was quiet, almost not heard, but Clarke heard it, and she couldn't help but smile.
"I guess I'll leave you to rest Princess."
She groaned at the nickname as he smirked down at her. He went to pull his hand away, but Clarke squeezed one more time and reluctantly let go of his hand.
As she heard the door close behind him, she closed her eyes and fell asleep, unable to keep herself awake.
