Peeta

I haven't been with Katniss in nearly a week and it's been killing me. I can't get her out of my mind. Those shining platinum eyes. Those luscious, naturally red lips. The way her dark raven hair fanned around her as she lay beneath me.

She called me once and we had phone sex and there has been sexting. But that nothing compared to lying next to her naked body and feeling her silk-like hair and soft skin beneath my fingers. Just the thought of that gets me hard. I'm broken from my thoughts when Delly walks into the room, dressed up a little compared to her typical scrubs.

"What are you all dressed up for?" I ask her. She sits down on the edge of the couch as she puts on her earrings.

"Do you realize how long it's been since we had a night out?" She says. "Dr. Everdeen mentioned her daughter sings down at the Hob and I thought maybe we could go down and see her, maybe get a few drinks and a bite to eat. I've heard nothing but good about her." I think it over for a moment and then nod.

"Sure Baby," I say. "Like you said, it's been a while since we got out." I get up and kiss her cheek before going back in our bedroom to get dressed in something presentable. I pull out a pair of jeans and a nice black V-neck. As I pull up my jeans I notice something in my pocket. I reach in and pull out the mint green lace panties Katniss had been wearing last time we were together, that I had accidentally taken with me. I say a silent thank you that they didn't fall out when Delly washed my jeans as I fold them up and put them into a pair of my socks that I instantly stuff in the back of the closet. I finish dressing and walk out to where Delly is waiting.

"You ready?" She asks and I nod, following her out to my black 2015 Dodge Challenger. She sits next to me as we drive to the Hob and as we walk in, I notice a pretty nice crowd has gathered for Dr. Everdeen's daughter.

"I'll go get us some drinks," I say. "Why don't you find us a seat." She nods and I push through the crowd and order our drinks. When they're ready, I start making my way to where Delly saved me a seat and sit down next to her. I hand her her drink and she smiles.

"Thank you," she says. "This night out means a lot to me."

"I know," I say. I can't say anymore as Dr. Everdeen's daughter walks out onto the little stage and people start to cheer. And my heart nearly stops as I see her clearly, wrapped in a dark blue cocktail dress and smoky grey eyeshadow. I lean over to Delly and whisper in her ear. "What did Dr. Everdeen say her daughter's name was?"

"Katharine?" She says puzzled and then shakes her head. "No, that's not right. It's Katniss. Katniss Hawthorne." I watch as Katniss grabs the mic and smiles.

"Hey guys, sorry it's been a while, my students have been keeping me pretty busy," she says and then I notice she's seen me as a look of confusion crosses her face before she shakes her curly hair and looks over the crowd. "As you guys know, I start out slow and work up to the fast stuff so hope you guys enjoy my performance and tips are gladly accepted." She looks to a girl with red hair and the girl turns on music as Katniss holds the mic to her lips.

"Another day has almost come and gone
Can't imagine what else could go wrong
Sometimes I'd like to hide away somewhere and lock the door
A single battle lost but not the war ('cause)

"Tomorrow's another day
And I'm thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain

"It's almost like the hard times circle 'round
A couple drops and they all start coming down
Yeah, I might feel defeated,
And I might hang my head
I might be barely breathing - but I'm not dead, no ('cause)
