Chapter 13

Leo (Daniel) POV

We finally aboard the plane, we got a long way to go. Theo isn't one who travels much because he's afraid of heights even though he denies it.

The plane attendant offers us a couple of drinks but I refuse. I have to be sober for what's to come. I try falling asleep to pass the time and eventually my eyelids feel heavy.

I open my eyes and I can feel the plane descending, that was quick.

We're here, it's a bit nerve wracking not knowing why I'm here. I packed everything I thought was necessary but will it be enough. What awaits here in Washington? Will I make it back to London? How long will I stay here?

I grab my bags from the airport and start walking. There's an address on the note inside the envelope. Theo is following behind and he looks determined. Well as determined as he'll get. We work for the agency so they allowed us to carry our guns on the plane.

"Taxi" I yell and wave to one of the men standing outside the airport. He turns around and drives closer to us. We grab our belongings and the taxi driver puts our suitcases in the trunk while we get inside the taxi.

"Where to" he asks getting back inside the cab. I hand him a piece of paper with an address on it. He reads it outloud nodding and drives off. 20 minutes later we arrive. We get out of the taxi, grab our stuff and pay the driver.

He dropped us at a car rental place, we walk inside and a man in his 40s is watching tv. When he sees us he gets up.

"How can I help you" he ask impatient because we're distracting him from his tv show.

"I rented a car under Daniel Sharman" I say and hand him my ID, he types in my name and a range rover pops up and he gives me the ID back.

"Looks like you already paid for ten days if you keep it longer let us know, I'll get the keys" he says and goes to the back retrieving the keys for the range rover. He comes back and takes us outside to where the car is parked. He hands over the keys and we put our suitcases in the trunk and drive off.

I grab the note and type in the address it gave us into the GPS on my phone. I drive until we reach a huge three story building. It looks cool almost like a glass house. There are many trees and that's when I notice there are no other buildings around. There are several cars parked, I wonder whose they are.

"Ready" I ask Theo, we're armed just in case this situation goes wrong. I'm glad he came along there's no one else I trust like him.

"Let's go" he replies scanning the place, we're both nervous. It feels strange being here because this isn't the UK. We get out of the car and walk through the door.

"Hello" a young woman says behind the reception table. Shes looks like she's in her early 30s. She looks nice but you never know appearances can be deceiving.

"Um...I don't think we're in the right place" I whisper to Theo but the woman hears me. I don't know what I was expecting but this isn't it.

"No no, can I get your name to confirm" she asks politely.

"Yes Daniel Sharman and this is Theo James" I reply and she nods and types something in her computer.

"Follow me" she says and leads the way. I look around and I find this building strange is this some sort of business meeting? We get inside the elevator until we reach the third floor. Where is she taking us? As we follow her, she doesn't say a word.

"Right in here" she says and extends her arm pointing to the door. I nod and she leaves. I open the door and I see other people in here. Who are they?

"Do you know any of these people" I ask Theo and he looks confused.

"No" is all he manages to say. They're all staring at us and I feel awkward. There's a large round desk behind them but none of them seem to be seated. I count each and every person in the room and there's twelve, seven guys and five girls. Are we the 12 the note spoke of? Everyone eyeballs each other suspiciously as if they're ready to attack.

Taurus (Theo) POV

"So who are you guys " I ask, the curiosity is killing me. I'm not one who likes to be kept in the dark. All the women here are pretty, well this should be fun. There are more men in here than women. No one seems to answer my question I know they heard me. I'm about to ask again but the door opens.

A man with grey hair enters with a huge smile. Who is he? Why is he so happy? Is he the one who sent us the envelopes?

"Well hello" he says and all the attention is on him. "Please take a seat there's much to discuss"

Each person walks over to the table and takes a seat. I sit next to Daniel, I know he wants to ask many questions but he stays silent.

"Where are my manners, let me introduce you or do you want to introduce yourselves" he says but no one says a word. "Fine let's go around the room, shall we start with the ladies." He walks out to each of them and calls their name "Mariela, Kat, Maria, Erika and Dakota." He continues but this time with the men "Daniel, Theo, Harry, Louis, Zayn, Niall and Liam" he goes back to his chair and sits.

"Why are we here" blurts out a girl with bright blue eyes, blonde hair and fair skin. I believe her name was Dakota.

"Anxious are we" the man says. "Well let me introduce myself first, my names Russell" he says and a man comes in and stands behind him. He must be Russells bodyguard. I guess he's just as nervous as we are.

"Like she asked why are we here" asks a girl with deep brown eyes, tan skin, and long dark brown hair. Russell just smiles.

"Well Mariela, I'm the one who sent those envelopes, I want each one of you to work for me as a team called Zodiac" he says.

"What if we refuse" says the curly haired guy with a british accent. Henry something like that right, no maybe Harry.

"I will not force anyone into working for me, but I will try to convince you, each one of you will get paid $5,000 every two weeks regardless of the job, plus a bonus of whatever assignment I have assigned" he says and is interrupted by everyone. They all speak at once and you can't hear Russell over the commotion.

"Will everyone just shut up already, we all want to know why we're here now let the man speak" Daniel yells and it seems to work because everyone goes silent. "What type of jobs are we talking about" he asks.

"Nothing major, let's just say it's a surprise, now if anyone doesn't want to be involved now is your chance to leave, the door is right there" he says slowly emphasising his words. Everyone remains seated curious as to what this man will propose. "Very well, I'm glad everyone has stayed, I have a mansion at your disposal, you will all stay there for a week or two and get to know each other better, there are cars downstairs ready to take you"

"Who's the leader" asks Liam "It said a male from a Leo or Scorpio sign, what does that mean" he states. He looks familiar but I can't remember from where.

Russell looks amazed at Liam's knowledge but everyone else remains confused like me.

"Yes each one of you have a specific sign name, Capricorn is Louis, Aquarius Harry, Pisces Niall, Aries Zayn, Taurus Theo, Gemini Kat, Cancer Erika, Virgo Liam, Libra Dakota, Sagittarius Mariela, and Leo is Daniel, those are your sign names " he pauses and looks around "Leo is the leader"

Daniel looks dismayed knowing he will lead us all into whatever awaits us. Hopefully he can take control of everyone's actions and lead us into victory instead of failure.
