~We are about a mile and a half away from The Fort, I wonder if I'm going to regret doing this, I am probably going to get slapped by Sunny, or my father, or even worse, Quinn.
~ I thought I loved him, and I don't just think, I know, I've made up my mind, so this time we both have time together will hopefully get pretty interesting... bleh... I'm just thinking ahead.
~ "Here" he tells me, we are at the beginning of the territory of The Lodge, (The Widow's territory.) It has stones with her symbol all placed in a line, I've been here, with Sunny. I was told not to be here, it was too dangerous, but Ryder brought me here, better find out what he wants before I bale, like the coward I am...
~ "is this what you wanted me to check out with you?? There's nothing to check out Ryder! There's nothing here!" I try to tell him but he interrupts me. "Open your eyes Aster and check this out!" he walks a direction of a giant tree next to the end of The Forts territory, I intend to follow him, and he points out something I didn't see, he's right, how could I have been this stupid.
~ I see a clipper, a dead one, he was stabbed in the chest and nailed to the tree, still bleeding out of his chest with a sword standing there. Crap.
~ "Now do you see what I am saying, stupid?" Ryder whispers in my ear. When he told me that, I wasn't insulted, well maybe a little, but I went with it and answered "Yeah.... I see what your saying...." I look at him for a few seconds, and walk off, he glares in confusion, and while I walk back to my horse, he stayed in the same exact spot and looked at me while I'm saddling up to head back. He sighs in disappointment "We can scout out more some other time right, Aster?" he asks me after a short pause.
"I don't know..." I reply, "I think we need to tell Sunny and your father about this. It's important." He looks at me and immediately shouts back, "No! We can't, I can handle this myself, we won't tell anyone, and we will figure it out on our own!" I sit there staring at him, I've known since I was 12 that he's a asshole, I shouldn't be surprised at all.
~ We are heading back, it was 8:57am, we've only been gone for a few, Sunny wouldn't be wondering, right?
When we finished and bring our horses back, I talk to him again, I'm going to be honest, the stuff he said was a little hurtful, I'm just being sensitive I guess.
"Listen I understand you think we shouldn't tell Sunny and Quinn about what you showed me, but like I said, it's important Ryder!" I can't handle his silence to me, it just stresses me out even more, Ryder glares at me and says the worst thing anyone's said to me in a long time, "For the last time idiot I can handle this!!! and I don't need help or advice from you, what do you know???" I back away and was extremely close to running away and bursting out crying, but I didn't, not very nearly at least."Goodbye, Ryder."
~ He looks at me surprised, but I didn't have a chance to look very closely, because I ran, not to the house, not to Quinn's, i go to my fathers house, the only place where I can really think and practice.
~ I don't come in and greet my father, I head to the back where I fight, practice, express me feelings, cry.
~ I fight, I swing my sword until the target is dead on the ground, what Ryder has been saying to me, I lied earlier, I lied. I was offended on what he said, it hurt, so much I started to cry, I cried a lot. That impulsive and arrogant asshole.
