Bill stared at the screen on his phone.

He was waiting for a reply from the kid he had met on the website he had signed up for. They had just started talking a few days ago and he was becoming really fond of the boy. He had also started texting him. Neither of them really wanted to use that website anymore. Plus, the kid wanted to talk to him when he didn't have his laptop... Turned out he didn't have his laptop with him a lot, so texting it was.

They both agreed on not sharing photos of themselves or names just yet. Bill wanted to learn all of that in person, if they ever did meet in person, that is. The kid didn't complain at all and said it made things more interesting. Bill liked that the boy liked things to be interesting.

Bill had learned quite a lot about the kid in their conversation. He lived with his two uncles and sister. He was a junior in high school and was a very smart kid who got good grades and liked mysteries, reading, and writing.

Bill found it hard to tell him things about himself, though. Most of it was lies because anything truthful would reveal that most of what he owned, even his house, was made by his magic... Or stolen... Oh, and also telling anything about himself would reveal the fact that he was a dream demon stuck inside a human body.

- Have I told you that my sister is pretty much obsessed with you?

He smiled.

No, you haven't. What does she say about me?

- She won't stop calling you my boyfriend. She also goes on and on about how she can't wait for our "first date". It's ridiculous.

Sounds like that would get really annoying real fast.

- Yeah, but I love her. She's the only sister I have and the best one I could ever ask for. We get along pretty well for siblings.

That's really good.

- Do you have any siblings?

Nope. Never wanted any and neither did my folks. They weren't even happy with me, so why have more?

- I'm sorry your parents don't like you. You seem like a really nice and good person. I can't believe anyone would treat you like that.

It's fine. I never cared about them, so why should I care that they don't like me? It's never mattered and never will. It's alright.

Bill mentally patted himself on the back for his acting... Or, he guessed, lying, really.

- Hey, do you live in Gravity Falls?

Yeah, I do. How did you know?

- Well, I actually found your profile on that website because I was looking at users that were in my area. I thought that if I was going to be talking to strangers online, why not at least have them close?

Good thinking, kid.

- Ha ha, thanks. Anyways, I was thinking since we live in the same town, that we could meet up soon? Unless you think it's too early for that.

No, I don't think it's too early at all! That sounds like a great idea.

- Sweet! Do you want to meet up at the coffee shop? It's the only one in town so I'm guessing you're familiar with it?

Yes, I am. That sounds like a good place to meet. When?

- How about tomorrow at three?

Sounds great. See you then, kid.

Bill smiled again. He felt his heart flutter a bit at the thought of actually meeting this kid... Though he was nervous.

But he had the confidence to do it and that was enough for him to go through with it.
