Mariah ran to phone and began punching Michael's number into the phone.

Pick up, pick up.

"Hello?"

"Michael! Guess what?"

"Vision of Love is number one. I know, I'm proud of you." Michael chuckled.

Mariah flopped on the couch. "Thanks. How did you know?"

He chuckled. "I always check Billboard. I told you it would go number one."

"When will you be back in New York?" She asked.

"I'm not supposed to be in New York for a while because I'm recording, but I want to see you again. It's been way too long, besides we need to celebrate."

"I miss you." Mariah whined.

Michael chuckled. "I miss you too. Are you coming to LA anytime soon?"

Mariah looked over at her calendar. "No, I have an interview tomorrow- wait! Never mind, I don't have to be in LA until the end of the month."

"Are you doing anything between now and then besides the interview?" He asked.

Mariah looked at her calendar again. "No, I'm free."

"Do you want to do something then?" He asked.

"What did you have in mind?" She purred.

Michael chuckled. "You love playing with me, don't you?"

"What ever do you mean?" Mariah asked.

Mariah could imagine him shaking his head at her. "You know what you're doing."

"I really don't, dahling." She put the phone to her chest and giggled.

She loved flirting and talking to Michael; they would spend hours on the phone, sometimes into the early hours of the morning. She was beginning to consider the picnic her first date with Michael and she was certainly in the mood for another one. It wouldn't hurt to get away from Tommy, who had been more eager to be around her now that his divorce was finalized.

Michael laughed. "Anyway, I want to fly you out here so I can see you."

"You don't have to fly me, but I'll come to LA if you're not too busy." Mariah agreed.

Michael scoffed. "As if I'm ever too busy to talk to you."

Mariah giggled. "I'll fly out there after my interview is over."

"Great! So what did you do today?" He asked.

Mariah twirled her hair. "Well Alison called today asking for money."

"Oh boy."

"Yeah and so I tell her no so she goes 'See, you think you're better than me. You always did, you little bitch.'"

Michael gasped. "Oh God. She did not say that."

"Yeah, that's what she said. 'You got a number one song, but you're trying to tell me you can't give me twenty bucks' and I'm like 'no, because I know what you're gonna do'" Mariah rolled her eyes.

Michael clicked his tongue. "Please tell me other than that you had a good day."

Mariah decided to leave Tommy out of the conversation.

Mariah smiled."Well, I'm talking to you now, so you can say it's taking a turn for the better."

Michael used his husky voice. "I'm glad I could make your day."
