"So I just wanted you to know you'll be performing at the VMAs on the 5th so make sure you're in LA."
Mariah's jaw dropped. "You're just telling me this today because?"
Tommy laughed. "Calm down, all you have to do is sing. Not like you gotta dance or anything."
"No, I have to mentally prepare myself to be seen by millions of people." Mariah dramatically fell back in her chair.
Tommy rolled her eyes. "You are so dramatic. So are you going to get a hotel or what?"
Mariah threw up her hands. "Unless a miracle happens, I guess I will."
"Still haven't heard from that wayward boyfriend of yours?" He shook his head.
Mariah rolled her eyes. "I don't even know if I can call him that anymore. He's been gone so long."
"It's all drama with you, soon as I'm done establishing your music career I'm putting you in a movie." Tommy chuckled.
Mariah slammed her hand on the desk playfully. "I am not being dramatic. It's been four months. Months."
Tommy sipped his whiskey. "Somebody isn't getting her needs fulfilled."
Mariah rolled her eyes. "It's not even like that. I'm just mad that he missed our anniversary."
"It's been a year already. Well look at that." He shrugged.
Mariah frowned. "Should I go to Neverland?"
"Can you handle going to Neverland?" Tommy asked.
Mariah tilted her head back and forth. "I think I can. Besides, I wanna know how he handled his brother's diss record."
Tommy shook his head. "I'm surprised they let him release that. That song was terrible, and I'm not just talking about the lyrics."
Mariah giggled. "It was pretty bad, but they keep playing it."
"Because controversy sells." Tommy pointed out.
Mariah shrugged. "Sales aren't my job, that's where you come in."
"Exactly, and your job is to make good music. I think you're doing your part, Emotions is selling nicely. Have you thought about your next single?" Tommy asked.
Mariah shrugged. "Let's see...If It's Over, And You Don't Remember, Can't Let Go, You're So Cold...yeah I shouldn't make that decision now. I'm a bit emotional."
"I'm going to leave that pun alone. "
Mariah giggled. "It was unintentional. I'm trying to think, should I do a ballad?"
"You should. Something like Love Takes Time." Tommy said.
Mariah nodded. "I guess that would be Can't Let Go, then."
"Well you still have some time. I'm not planning on releasing another single until Emotions starts falling." Tommy pointed out.
Mariah twisted herself around in the chair and leaned over Tommy's desk. "So what do you think?"
"Think about what?"
Mariah groaned. "The situation between me and Michael."
Tommy nodded slowly. "Oh, I see. You want me to give you more advice that you're not going to listen to."
"I listen, I just make my own decision after you give your opinion. I mean, it is still my relationship. I think." Mariah looked down at the floor. "Why is he so difficult?"
