CHAPTER 2: THE EARLY MOON

The door slams after she throws her bag in. "Casey! Be more careful!" Scorns her mother. "Everything could have fallen out and made a great mess!"

Casey thinks to herself, why does she have to scorn everything I do? I try my best!

Casey jumps into the shower before she leaves. "No showers for a week, i'll smell like a skunk!"

While Casey showers her mother goes through her bag, making sure she didn't bring anything 'bad'. "Nope nothing in here George!" Casey's mom yells, while making sure Casey didn't hear.

Casey jumps out of the shower, and wraps her baby blue towel around her head. "I'm wearing a turban!" She says while laughing at the face she made while saying it. "I'm such a dufus!"

She continues her routine, until her mother says it's time to go. "I'm coming!"

She checks her room. It's the usual mess everywhere but she walks up to her mirror before she goes, to make sure her favorite photo is still there. Her older brother Jonny, older sister Loretta, her favorite cousin Melody, and her all posing.

Her older brother and sister have moved away for college, she is the baby of the family. And her cousin moved away two years ago.

She runs like a cheetah out to the car. "Ok, I'm ready!"

It is a 5 hour drive to the camp so she packed lots of food. Casey puts her ear buds in and listens to her favorite song. But she manages to hear her mom say, 'she mustn't know yet'. Casey wonders what she meant, or who she was talking about, but she doesn't worry about it.

They arrive at the camp, she runs and greets all her friends. They go inside the camp cabin and watch her parents leave.

"What should we do first?" Casey asks her friends.

"Lets go for a walk in the woods!" Says her best friend Katie. Everyone agrees.

They follow the path in the woods catching up on each other's lives. "So, what have you been up to Casey?" Asks Tammy half sneering knowing she did nothing.

"Well," Casey says not wanting to say she did hardly anything. "I.........Oh I went to the amusement park and went on the 'tummy twister'."

"Omg! Really?" Says Katie knowing it was a complete lie.

"Uh yea.........." Casey gets cut of by a screeching scream coming from another path. They all scream and get down on their bellies behind a tree. They watch in horror as a camper is being dragged away by some invisible monster. The girl is very young looking, bleeding out of her abdomen rapidly.

"Guys, we need to help her!" Yells Katie worried for her own life too.

"No way! We are not helping her, just to get ourselves in the same situation!" Says Tammy almost mad at Katie for even saying that.

They all turn around just to see that another girl is being dragged away, bleeding in the same spot.

"We need to get out of here, and fast!" Says Casey watching Katie crying at the horror of it all.

They stay behind the tree watching more screaming and dragging happening.
