Priyanka's POV:
"M-mom this is..." I began to say.
"Shalini, this is Ranveer. He is one of Priyanka's friend's brother. He will be staying with us for a couple of days." Dad explained to mom.
My mom just nodded, the frown never leaving her face. But she couldn't say anything in front of dad.
I quickly got up from the couch and went into the kitchen to make some coffee for my mom. I boiled the water and then poured in the coffee mix. After it was dissolved, I took it to the living room. My dad and Ranveer were talking happily while my mom was trying to butt in. She kept on interrupting their conversation and asking Ranveer questions. I made my way over to her and handed over the coffee mug. Then I went back into the kitchen to prepare some breakfast. While I was chopping the vegetables to put in my veggie omelette, mom came in.
"That boy, is he just a friend?" She asked with a skeptical look.
"Yeah, just a friend." I said while looking down.
"Anyways, I came here to tell you that your to-be-in laws are coming to meet you at 5. Be ready by then." She said while walking out of the kitchen.
"Wait! Mom! What's his name?" I quickly asked.
"Raj Malhotra." My mom said as she continued walking.
Raj Malhotra. Cool name. Sounds really filmy.
I quickly finished making the omelettes and went back to the living room.
"Ranveer, let me show you your room." I said as I took Ranveer to his room.
"Listen, my in laws are coming over at 5. Please behave in front of them. Don't get angry. Please." I worriedly told Ranveer as he looked at me with a blank expression.
"Okay, don't worry. Everything will be fine." He reassured me.
"Yes everything will be. As long as you are with me." I said as I pulled him into a hug.
