Priyanka's POV:

What? How can that be? Was Dad lying?

But the serious and strained look in his eyes conveyed that he was indeed telling the truth.

"But Dad, why are you telling me all of this?" I asked looking at him.

"Because Priyanka, your mom always wanted to be your role model. But after she left, or was forced to leave as I would put it, I couldn't bear telling you about her. You were very young. Only around 3 years old." Dad said with a sigh as a tear ran down his cheek.

"Dad, you are really confusing me. Please tell me everything from the beginning." I said very confused.

"Okay. Your Mom and I had met each other in University. She was in the 1st year while I was in 2nd year. On the first day of school, I had saved her from all the ragging and from then on, we were friends. Whenever something was bothering her, she would always come to me. She often came and had lunch with my friends and I with her friends. All of us were really close. She was the most beautiful and understanding woman I've ever met. She had gorgeous brown eyes and long brown hair. When I was in the 4th year and she was in the 3rd year, I had realized that I felt something more for her than just friendship. But I was too scared to tell her as our friendship might have been broken. Then, on the night of the prom, I promised myself that I would tell her. It was too hard to control my feelings around her. Whenever she was near me, my heart beat always sped up. For some reason, I started coming to University just so I could see her. My friends knew about my feelings for Prenali. They always tried hinting it whenever she was around, but she was too naive to understand it. And then I did it. I told her about my feelings. At first, she didn't react, but then she was laughing. I couldn't believe it. She also felt the way for me. We dated the whole year after that. Then Shalini entered into our lives. She was a new student who was in Prenali's class. Prenali and her became the best of friends but Shalini was jealous of Prenali. She wanted me. Shalini created many problems between Prenali and I, but our bond was too strong to break. After University finished, both Prenali and I set out to be lawyers. During that course of our lives, Prenali and I decided to get married. It was the most beautiful wedding ever and Prenali looked like an angel from above. My angel. Then we had you and 3 other kids. Karan was the oldest. He was 1 when we had you. You were second oldest. A year after that, we had Varun and then Shanaya. Our life was perfect until Shalini came back. This time, she did much worse. She planted a seed of doubt in Prenali's mind and began to manipulate her. Soon after, Prenali left with Karan, Varun and Shanaya. I kept you with me because you reminded me of my Prenali. By tricking me into marriage, Shalini came into this house as my wife. She already had 2 kids from her first marriage. I knew that she abused you but I couldn't say anything. I knew that she was dangerous and if I did anything, she would do something to you or Prenali. But now, when she was in the way of your happiness, I had to stop her." Dad finished as he wiped his tears which were constantly running down his face.

I closed my eyes in pain as I let the facts sink in. Shalini mom was so cruel to my parents.

"I have decided Priyanka, I am going to get my Prenali back.

Slam! The door slammed open. We all turned to look at the door and we saw Shalini mom standing there, with fire in her eyes.
