Chapter 32- Blackmail

Priyanka's POV:

I turned my head towards the door and was shocked to see Shalini mom with fire in her eyes. She looked as if she would explode any second!

She slowly walked into the study room and towards Dad.

"You told her everything, didn't you?" She asked in a dangerously low voice.

Dad nodded.

"Shalini I am not scared of you anymore. Before I was worried for Prenali, Priyanka and my other kids, but not anymore. I will go back to them and get them back at any cost." Dad said as stood up and pushed past Shalini mom.

"No KD! You are mine! I won't let you go back to her!" Shalini mom said almost begging.

"No Shalini. You have played with me enough. Now no more. I want Prenali back and I will get her back, no matter what you say!" Dad roared with anger.

I stood there in shock and grasped Ranveer's hand. I had completely forgotten about him. I looked over to him and saw that he looked just as appalled  as me.

I turned my head back and looked at Dad. He was seething in anger. Shalini mom had this weird look in her eyes which made her look evil.

"Why did you do all this? Why did you separate my Prenali from me? What did we ever do to you?" Dad asked with a forlorn and defeated look in his eyes.

"You want to know why? I'll tell you! Do you remember Rajkumar Shah? The  same Rajkumar Shah that YOU sent to jail. When you got the case, I was sure that you would my dad sent to jail, after all, you are KD Pathak. The best lawyer in the country. Obviously, you won the case. Dad was hanged to death! I was already friends with Prenali so I knew that it was you who did everything. I saw that you loved Prenali unconditionally. That's why I manipulated her against you. I wanted to separate both of you. She was bound to leave. After that I tricked you into marrying me. I wanted to make your life a living hell!" Shalini mom said evilly.

I stepped back in astonishment and bumped into Ranveer. He wrapped an arm around my waist and helped me stand.

"How dare you! Your Dad was a serial killer. It was my duty as a good citizen to fight against him and send him to
jail. He was wrong, not me! How could you do this to me knowing about your father?" Dad said.

"So what?! He was my father!" Shalini mom screamed.

"Oh my gosh! You are a physco!" Dad said running a hand through his hair and sighing deeply.

"I will not let you two come back together. And besides, you have no proof against me. You can't harm me." Shalini mom said grinning evilly.

"You are wrong about that!" I said out loud.

Shalini mom jerked her head towards me.

"What do you mean!" She snarled taking small steps towards me.

"This!" I said as I whipped out my phone and paused the voice recording.

I had been recording everything she had been saying.

"You-"

Ranveer stepped in front of me like a shield.

"Get out Shalini! From my house and my life!" Dad roared in anger.

Shalini mom glared at everyone and left the room.

I slowly began sinking towards the ground but Ranveer caught me before I fell. He slowly brought me over to the chair I was previously sitting on and helped me sit. I hugged him around the waist and cried while he caressed my hair while telling me that everything would be fine.

"Priyanka, go pack your bags. We are going to Delhi. Ranveer, you also come with us." Dad said while standing up.

I followed suit and wiped my tears. I clutched my phone close and made a final decision. I would use this recording against Shalini mom if she ever tried to hurt my family. But now, I am going to meet my Mom! After 18 long years I would finally see her. With that thought, I went upstairs to my room with Ranveer protectively holding my hand the entire way.

Hey guys! Sorry if this chapter was a little confusing. Here r some facts which will help clear things out.

-KD Pathak is a lawyer because of whom Shalini's dad went to jail

-Shalini took revenge from Priyanka's dad by separating him and Prenali (Priyanka's mom).

-Priyanka recorded everything Shalini said and promised to use it if any harm came to her family.
