****Lila's POV****

(One year later)

I walked through the door of my apartment and plopped down on the couch. As I turned on my television I heard the similar music to one of my favorite shows, X-Factor, I had turned it on just in time to see Aaron perform. My heart leapt at the sight of him. I knew from the start that he was going to make it big. What am I thinking we haven't even talked since I left him in the hallway right before I moved! He probably has forgotten all about me. He's a big star with girls hanging all over him left and right. Why would he remember little old Lila from England. I quickly turned the channel not wanting to think about Aaron anymore. My stomach growled reminding me I haven't ate since lunch. I jumped up and ran straight to the fridge. Of course as soon as I came back another story was on about the rising pop star Aaron Mathews. I decided to just turn off the television. I had a class tomorrow at nine anyway.

(The next day)

I walked into the diner as the little bell above the door went off. As soon as I walk in Stephanie runs over to me.

"Where have you been?" She chirped

"Hello to you too Steph." I chuckled

"Your shift started an hour ago! I was able to cover for you since our lazy ass manager only came out once to check on us. But you owe me!!" She stated as a look of concern grew on her face.

"Fine I will close up tonight..."

"Yes thank you!" She gave me a big hug and ran back to the kitchen.

I walked to the bathroom to change into my work clothes. This is the only normal thing in my life right now... even school is a mess. I walked out, greeted the customers and took some drink orders. It has been a long day.

"Excuse me?" a little girl who looked to me to be about nine or ten asked me in her high pitched voice.

"How can I help you sweetie" I responded. I love kids they brighten my day. And honestly even just a little thing like that will make a difference at this point.

"Can you turn on E news there is some big story about Aaron Mathews that is supposed to come on tonight"

"Sure!" I stated as positively as I could trying to push old memories into the back of my mind.

I walked over to the Television and turned on E new just as the little girl requested.

After about two hours of hearing about how Aaron was seen getting on a plane, everyone left and it was time to clean up.

"Thanks again for closing up Lila! I've got a hot date with some guy I met in class today" She said while wiggling her eyebrows.

I chuckled "Have fun" I said and gave her a thumbs up. I'm glad someone's love life is picking up.

"Performing at Johns Hopkins..." I heard the Television say.

What!!? Someone famous is coming to school! My head bolted straight up to the small television sitting on the counter.

"That's right people!! Aaron Mathews is coming to Johns Hopkins. He will be taking one week to see what it feels like to be a college student in the states and to finish up the trip he will be giving a free performance to all of the students!"

No this can't be happening! I might finally will get to see Aaron again. What am I thinking, he probably has a hot shot girlfriend and won't even remember me.

***Aaron's POV***

Oh my god I'm going to America. What if I see Lila? Yeah right I don't even know if she ended up staying at Hopkins. I know she was a little nervous about it. Especially with its rigorous medical program. I know she wanted to be a surgeon, but people change their minds all the time.

"What's the matter? Aren't you excited to go see what it was like to be in college?" Rick, my guitarist, whispered in my ear.

He is the only one who actually knows when I'm upset. He kind of became my best friend when we are on the road, but no one knows me like Lila does.

"I'm fine. I'm just thinking about how many bars we can go to" I say with a fake smile.

I hear Scott, the drummer, cheer in response to the mention of beer and Rick gave me a look that basically said "I know thats a load of bull shit you're going to tell me later" I looked out the window and slowly drifted off to sleep with an image of Lila in my mind.
