The rest of the week was all hazy. We worked hard in every class; keeping our grades up so that we were able to go to the championships. All I thought about was the fact that I, Annalise Johnson, was sharing a room with Reed Lawrence. I dread the moment.
"Anna! Hurry up, you're gonna be late." My mom yells from the bottom of the stairs. I roll my eyes and grab the duffel bag, along with my suitcase before stomping down the stairs.
"What took you so long to look like that?" Oliver smirks at me from the couch. I swear he's always sitting on his lazy ass.
"Haha." I chuck my soccer ball at his head and grab an apple from the bowl.
"You two aren't going to fight now, are you?" Roger raises his eyebrows at us. Roger's my stepdad. Typically, I'm supposed to hate him and totally not promote him in place of my real father. But, quite honestly, he's awesome and I never met my father.
"It's just play, Roger." I smile and take a bite out of the apple.
"Sure." Oliver appears beside me and takes out his phone."We gotta go."
"Fine." I put the half-eaten apple on the counter and hug Mom. "Bye Mom." I then move to Roger. "Bye Roger."
"Goodbye, you two." They smile as Oliver and I exit the house with all of our bags. I shove mine into the trunk and get in the passenger seat.
"Oh, we have to pick up Lauren." I announce as Oliver starts the car.
"Seriously?" He frowns.
"Yes, seriously. Now, move. We can't be late." Oliver just huffs and turns to drive where Lauren lives.
"Just so you know, I'm killing you in your sleep when we get there." I look down at my nails and smirk.
"Violent." He shakes his head. "Why do you hate Reed so much? He's a good guy."
"Good guy my ass. Good guy that uses girls left and right. Good guy that doesn't care about anyone else. Good guy that doesn't focus on school. Good guy-"
"Okay, okay. I get it." Oliver sighs.
"People like him shouldn't be known in this society." I roll my eyes.
"Jeez, Anna. You okay there?"
"I certainly am not." I frown.
"Look, we're gonna get on the bus and you can maybe take a nap. It's like only a 2 hour ride." Oliver shrugs and pulls into Lauren's driveway.
"You know I get car sick." I fold my arms over my stomach.
"But it's a bus. You don't get bus sick, right?" He grins.
"You're an idiot." I open the door and walk up the path to Lauren's front door, opening it and walking past her mom.
"Oh, hello Annalise." She smiles.
"Hey Mrs. Kloy. Is Lauren ready?" I smile back.
"I'm here." Lauren shouts and comes through the hallway with like 5 bags.
"Uh, okay." I shake my head and open the door for her.
"Sorry. I just have so much stuff." Lauren shakes her head and attempts to put it all in the trunk.
"Maybe a bit too much." I laugh and take two of her bags, shoving it in the back seats.
"Hey, it's a week. I need to look and do my best." She shrugs and hops into the back seat.
"Whatever you say." I get back in the passenger seat and buckle up again.
"Great. Now we have to haul it to school." Oliver rolls his eyes.
