(A/N: Reed ^)
I finish putting my uniform on with Lauren and grab my duffel before we leave her room. I still haven't seen Reed and he still has my phone. Oliver said he had to spend time with his father and therefore excused him from coming to the game. I honestly don't care at this point, I just want my phone back.
"I haven't gotten around to ask if you were alright?" Lauren nudges me.
"I'm okay. I just wish I knew Kent would be a class A asshole." I roll my eyes and she smiles.
"I wish we were buddies. Hey, where's your phone?"
"Reed took it from me before lunch. That's why I never got to text you back." I shrug.
"Lunch, eh? With Reed." Lauren giggles.
"Oh, shut it. How about Ethan?" I raise my eyebrows.
"What about him? He's fine." She shrugs it off.
"Mhm." I open the door to the arena and walk over to where our stuff was set up.
When all the other girls are done getting ready, we huddle around Coach.
"As you've heard, Annalise is unable to play the first half. I have faith in all of you to haul her empty space and at the least keep the other team from scoring." Coach orders.
Everyone nods and disperses, waiting for the other team to be ready. I see Willow Park off in the corner and narrow my eyes.
"Do you see him?" Coach comes next to me.
"Not yet." I shake my head.
"Don't hesitate to tell me." He pats my shoulder and I nod in return.
The ref blows his whistle and the girls go at it, chasing after the ball. Once they break, we're down by 1-2. Everyone drinks their water and sits down to rest.
I pace back and forth, trying to formulate a way to win this and not to worry about Reed. Next thing I know, Kent approaches me.
"Get away." I put my hands up and back away.
"I'm actually trying to apologize for Dylan." He shakes his head.
"And why doesn't he?" I cross my arms.
Kent turns and waves Dylan over. Once he approaches, I turn around and see coach watching closely. I turn back and wait for his apology.
"What?" Dylan smirks at me.
"What do you mean 'what'?" I shake my head.
"Apologize." Kent nudges him with a grin.
"Oh. I'm not sorry for touching your hot ass." He snickers. "Maybe you'll give me something at the after party tonight when you lose."
"You better not be talking to my girlfriend like that." Reed sidles up next to me.
I gape at him and turn back to a pale Kent.
"Boyfriend? Well, Reed Lawrence. She's a slut and is most likely a gold digger for dating you." Dylan finishes.
I back away as tears begin to cloud my vision. Out of the corner of my eye, Coach runs over before Reed can do anything, calling Willow Park's coach over. I go to run out the door when Lauren blocks me by engulfing my fragile body into a warm hug.
"Did you hear?" I ask after I compose myself.
"Yes." She rubs my back. "I know you and if you are dating Reed, he'd know too."
