Eyes

As days goes by for the two, Alyssa and Dennise, halos araw-araw din na tinatanong ng una ang sarili kung bakit parang hindi niya nakikita ang huli na tinatanggal ang contact lens nito. Until one day....

"Den, permanent ba 'yang contact lens mo?" Ly asked one evening as they're having their dinner. Nagulat naman ang huli sa tanong niya pero hindi niya pinahalata. Imbes na sagutin siya, itinuon na lamang ng huli ang ginagawa na paghimay sa pagkain ng bata.

Friday afternoon, Den went to her beshies right after she signed out from the hospital.

"What's the agenda, Dr. Lazaro?" Amy asked when Den came in in her office. Ella was there already, drinking coffee.

"Haaay, guys, what should I do?" Den sighed.

"Eh kung sinasabi mo kaya muna ang problema ano?!" Ella hissed.

"Si Ly kasi eh." She said.

"What about her?" Si Amy.

"Binasted ka?" Ella smirked.

"Hindi a." She quickly answered.

"Then, ano problema sa kanya?"

"Madalas kasi siyang nakatingin sa akin."

"May tama din 'yun sa'yo kung ganun." Si Ella.

"Eh sana nga ganun na lang kaso alam naman nating iisa lang nakikita ng puso niya."

"Eh ano nga?!" Tanong ulit ni Ella.

"She often looks at me in the...eye...."

"Oh my God!" The two said in unison.

"Yeah, and she often tells me also to take out my lenses before going to sleep. But last night, she asked me if my lenses are permanent."

"There is no such thing like permanent lenses, duh!" Si Amy.

"I know, right." Sagot ni Denden. "Guys, what if..."

"What if malaman niya ang totoo?" Ella said. Den just nod. "Then, tell her the truth. 'Yun lang naman solusyon niyan eh." Natahimik naman silang lahat.

One day, Alyssa, went to the supermarket when she accidentally bumped Fille with her son.

"Ly?"

"Uy! Ate Fille!" She smiled. "Kumusta na?"

"Okay lang. Eto, mommy na."

"I can see that. Laki na anak mo a. How old is he?"

"Turning to four na, kaedad lang ni Zasa."

"Oh, is it?"

"Yeah, nanganak ako nung araw na nanganak din si A-ara."

"It's okay Ate Fille. Tanggap ko na na wala na siya." Bigla namang lumungkot ang aura niya.

"Hindi pa nakikita ni Denden 'to." Sabay haplos ni Fille sa buhok ng anak.

"Ngeeee! Bakit naman?"

"Kasi, she was still blind when I gave birth then we moved in US na rin after that."

"Wait, blind kamo?"

"Uhummm!" When she saw Alyssa's reaction, that was when she thought na baka hindi pa alam ni Ly ang istorya. "Uh-oh!" She whispered.

"Bakit siya nabulag?"

But before Fille will be interrogated by her, eksakto namang dumating ang asawa nito at tinawag siya.

Habang papunta na sa counter si Ly, saka lang siya bumalik sa katinuan when her trolley bumped by another trolley.

"Kim?!"
