Ciel sat impatiently, slightly irritable to begin with but even more so because of whatever important thing Kimberly 'forgot' to mention.

"Just spit it out already!" He snapped. Kimberly flinched and looked away.

"I-it's easier to show you..." Walking over to a nearby basin she picked up the pitcher of water, lifting it above her head and quickly turning it upside down. Completely drenching herself. Within seconds she wobbled and yelped, falling to the ground behind the couch, out of Ciel's sight.

When she fell Ciel quickly jumped out of his seat and rushed to her. "Are you ok!?"

"Y-yeah.. probably should've sat down first."

"Here let's stand you back up." Ciel grabs her arm to help her up but before he can she interrupts.

"Um... about standing."

Ciel was stunned. Right of in front of him was a tail. Not just any tail. A oversized fish tail. Kimberly's tail.

"... mermaid?"

"...yeah."

"How-?"

"We have to be dry. If we're completely drenched or submerged in water our tail comes back."

"Huh.."

"You're... not upset?" Kimberly asked as she bit her lip, her dress and hair soaked through.

"No. I'm surprised though. I didnt know mermaids existed."

"Thats cause were endangered. The last of us are pretty much hiding. I was abandoned and caught. Though that story is for another time. Can you get me a towel?" Kimberly shivered in cold.

Ciel, without hesitation got her wrapped in blankets and towels in no time. Sitting next to her on the floor peacefully by the fire.
