You were coming back from work well from S.H.I.E.L.D since Fury made you help Thor get more Poptarts since he was always eating them.
"Hey Stevie I'm hoomme!" You didn't really hear back a response, ' Maybe he's out with Tony.' Then you went to the room you both shared. Right before entering your guys' room you heard a faith cry, not like a cry for help, like a cry for sorrow. Right then you remembered it was the day, the day Steve lost Bucky.
"Steve Honey, it's me. Are you alright?" That's when you known you should NOT have bothered Steve.
"NO Y/N I AM NOT ALRIGHT!" he snapped, tears clearly visible on his face.
"I COULD OF GOTTEN TO SAVE HIM, I FUCKED UP TWICE. NOW WHERE IS HE?! NO ONE FUCKING KNOWS!"
With those words you were actually trembling in fear, you've never seen Steve like this before. He was the kind of guy that would help anyone else before him.
"Y/N, I'M THE MAN OUT OF TIME. THE GUY THAT NEEDS A FUCKING WAR TO BE EQUVILENT FOR DAMN LIFE. I DID NOT ASK FOR THIS LIFE."
"Steve it's okay. It's okay." You say trying to comfort him.
"NO IT IS NOT FUCKING OKAY! I LOST MY OWN LIFE 75 YEARS AGO! I LOST PEGGY AND BUCKY THEY WERE MY LIFE, THEY HAD ME HAPPY, NOW I LOST THEM." That's when he noticed you were trembling, you were only trying to help, you were his girlfriend. Then he came to give you a hug.
Then you did something he wouldn't really expect.
You flinched.
That's when he started lowering his voice, "Y/n I'm sorry, I wouldn't ever hit you I promise. I'm sorry that I scared you. I love you."
"It's okay Steve I understand."
"Are you sure? I'm really sorry."
"Yes, because today we're going to have a day just dedicated to you."
"Sure, I guess so."
"How does The Little Mermaid sound?"
"I'd love to. And Y/n?"
"Yeah?"
"Thanks, I love you."
"I love you too Steve."
