Chapter Ten

Jade POV

When my senses started to come back to me, everything started to come back to me slowly.

The first thing I reconised was a steady thumping of an heart I presumed. But it wasn't beating normally it was faster as if the person carrying me was doing some bodily exercise. I heard steady puffs of breath and the screeching of the Train.

Then my sense of smell came back and i smelled something that consisted out of musk, warm leather and sweat and the normal air of Chicago. The sweat was despite being a bit sticky the thing that calmed me the most. Because it smelled entirely of Eric.

Then my other senses came back and i knew that Eric was running and carrying me on his back. When I opened my eyes I saw that Tris and Four and the other loyal Dauntless were running with them.

The thing that shot me seemed to really have something in it, which have must knocked me out more than i thought.

"Eric, where are we headed?", was the first question that came to my mind the other answers didn't need an answer that quickly.

"Back to the Factionless home. Nice to see you are alive Jade. Who do you feel?", he asked me.

"Apart from the headsplitting headache really good. Better than I should I presume but I m not really sure about that one. I can run the rest if you like?"

"Nah, we are already almost there and after you were knocked out that long I am not willing to take any risks. I will carry you the rest. It is not as if you are heavy.", he answered and he was right shortly after we were inside the Quarter.

Eric and I sat down on the floor on the bunk Fours Mother gave to us when we were there the last time.

"Did that thing that I was shot with affect you and the others as much as me?"

"No, not that I can remember you were out much longer than the rest.", he answered.

I hummed and layed myself onto the bunk and started to drift into sleep next to him.

In the middle of the night I shoot upright. I had an idea but i hoped I really hoped she wasn't true. Not yet at the least.

I shook Eric who also bolted upright suprised. "Whats up, Jade? Why do you wake me in the middle of the night?"

"Eric how much time has passed since we first had sex?", I asked straight to the point.

"Uh something between one and two months ago. Why do you ask?", he asked getting confused.

As he said that i started to search my memory. But i came to the same conclusion as before.

"Eric, I haven't had my period."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Eric, I have the feeling that I may be pregnant."
