Darklife

With the fading of twilight I awaken

To the darkness that is my life, my world

A creature of the night I was born

To be shrouded by the darkness

That is my protection and my salvation

For only in the night am I whole

Alone and misunderstood by all

Except by my kindred, my brethren

I whose life is sustained is sustained

By the life energy of others

Feared because I am different from others

Surrounded by myth and legends

Yet different then the assumptions others made

For I do not wish harm to come to them

My nature is not like what others think

And yet live in the dark of night

Covered by lies and half truths

I must live a dark life, unknown to others

For others cannot see me for who I am
