Chapter 15

Taraji -

I picked up some groceries, and then I went to get Royalty. I had so much on my mind. Chris had called me twice today but I sent him to voicemail, I wasn't ready to talk to him yet. I knew he was going to kill my ass once he found out what happened between me and Terrance.

I went in the house and got settled down. I gave Royalty a bath and put her in her play pin. I took a shower and put my hair into a bun. I through on a pair of shorts and a tank top and headed down stairs. I went inside the kitchen and put a pizza in the oven. I shuffled through the mail, and then I paid the light, gas, water, and cable bill. I made sure me and Chris's cellphone bills were paid, and then I poured myself a tall glass of Moët.

I needed to calm down and relax, so I grabbed a book off the book shelf and sat on the couch. I watched Royalty while she played with her Dolls. I grabbed my phone and contemplated on whether or not I should call Chris, I decided that I was going to come clean and tell him, but in person. I dialed his number and called him, I didn't care, I needed to hear my husbands voice.

Chris -

"Baby I don't know it just happened," "Karruche set me up babe, I-I damn baby I know I fucked up," "shit!" I yelled as I rubbed my head and paced back and forth. I had been calling Taraji none stop. I didn't know what I was gone say, or how I was gone say it. I knew no matter what I said our marriage was over. I wasn't ready to loose my wife. I sat down on the bed, and let the tears just fall down my eyes. I couldn't think, I couldn't eat, I couldn't focus, and I knew damn well I wasn't gone be able to perform tonight.

I was fucked up mentally, physically, and emotionally. I pressed the home screen button on my phone and stared at my wall screen paper. Me and Taraji's wedding picture. We was so happy, we was perfect for each other, and I had to fuck up. I just don't understand. I'd been doing everything right. I stopped going to parties, I stopped doing a lot of shit I used to used to do, and I still was doing her wrong.

I rocked back and forth as the tears continued to fall. My heart stopped as my phone began to ring. I looked at the caller Id and it was Taraji. I quickly answered. "Hold on babe," I said into the phone. "Okay," she replied. I wiped my face, and took two deep breaths. "Get yourself together Chris," I said as I rubbed my palms on my jeans. I picked the phone back up and placed it to my ear.

"Hey baby," I said. "Hey babe what are you doing is everything okay?" She asked. "I'm just laying down in bed, and yeah I'm good," I said as I laid back. "Awe I miss you I needed to hear your voice," she said. "Same here I called you earlier," I said. "I just checked my messages I saw where you called," she lied.

"Yeah, where's baby girl?" I asked. "She's in her play pin playing with her dolls, I put a pizza in the oven for dinner," she said. "Yeah I'm actually about to get dressed, this my second show for tonight in Las Vegas then I'm in New Jersey tomorrow," I said.

"Yeah are you still going to be at the night club performing tonight?" She asked. "No Culture center," I replied. "Oh okay well I know you're to do good tonight babe," she said. "Yeah thanks baby," I replied.

There was an awkward silence between the two of them. Both in their own thoughts, contemplating whether they should talk to the other one about what's been going on. Instead they decided to end the conversation. "Okay baby well I'll talk to you later," she said. "Okay baby I'll call you later on tonight," I replied.

"Okay, I love you so much Chris no matter what happens I love you," she said. "I love you more baby more than anything in the world," I said as a tear fell down my eyes. "Bye baby," she said. "Bye sweetheart," I said as I hung up. Maybe there was hope, maybe things between me and Taraji wouldn't turn out bad. I was hoping and praying that she would forgive me.
