Tiffany met the person who had found her keys in the gym hall, but it upset her a little how many other people seemed to think they were their keys.
Tiffany moved up in the line, growing more and more agitated as more girls joined the line to claim what she knew were her keys. Finally, she was at the little table the guy who had apparently found the keys had set up, and she sat down, ready to claim her keys.
"Are these yours?" The guy asked in a bored tone. He wasn't looking directly at her, instead down at the keys, seemingly tired of all the interrogations he had put people through.
"Ooh, yeah, there's my house key, and my car key, and the key to my bike lock, even though I never use that one," Tiffany listed off, touching her keys. "Oh, but what happened to the little pig?"
The guy on the other side of the table shot her a surprised look. "The pig?"
"I put it on there last year, my aunt gave it to me. It lights up and makes an oinking sound when you press the little button," Tiffany explained, a smile spreading across her face. "What happened to it?"
The guy slid the keys over to her, placing the pig on the table next to them. "All yours," he said.
"Hey, I know you from somewhere!" Tiffany realized, struggling to think of where she had seen the guy before. "Oh, I danced with you at Homecoming, didn't I?"
The guy nodded and smiled. "I'm Luke."
Luke?! Tiffany thought. Oh no!
"I'm Tiffany, but I really really have to go talk to someone, bye!" Tiffany said quickly, grabbing her keys and hurrying off. She knew she had to talk to Alexis about something, she couldn't remember what, only that it was important. Pushing through people on her way to the Coffee Grounds room, she clipped the light-up pig back onto her key ring where it belonged,
"Tiffany!" Alexis greeted her. "Are you here for the Cinderella Game?"
Tiffany realized in horror that that was what she had forgotten. "Oh my gosh, am I out of the game?" She asked, panicking.
"I see you brought your keys," Alexis smiled, comparing them to her picture.
"Alexis, I completely forgot about the game as soon as I walked into Homecoming!" Tiffany cried, dabbing at the corners of her eyes. "Can I please, please have another chance?"
Alexis gave her a patient smile. "Tiffany, do you remember who your Prince Charming was?"
Tiffany thought about it. "Luke Parsons."
"Now do you remember who you danced with first at Homecoming?"
"The guy in the red tie, Luke?"
Alexis explained it to her. "You somehow managed to do everything right, even when you forgot. You danced with your Prince, left the dance before midnight, and somehow you even managed to drop something that fit the requirements, and now you've recovered it and brought it back. I have no idea how you did it, but you did it."
Tiffany gasped. She had been so stupid, and yet she had done it? "So does that mean I won?" she asked.
Alexis shook her head, a small look of relief flickering across her face. "No, you were second. So close."
"Who won?" Tiffany asked.
"Just keep an eye out for the new editor in chief on the Coffee Grounds poster. You run off now, I hear you left Luke without an explanation, go talk to him."
