Chapter 2: Meet Calista White!

**Vail P.O.V.**

Once Natsu and I were down in the guild hall, all eyes were on me. I was already feeling very uncomfortable with everyone staring at me. I ended up standing behind Natsu, feeling frightened with all the glares. He felt me walking behind him, and so his instinct was to grab my hand to make sure I don't run off. I blush a bit afterwards, I felt like a queen. Though, I'm not, because I'm sure he's just doing what he's told and he doesn't want the specimen to run away. Once we stopped walking, he introduced me to a couple of his friends.

He let go of my hand, and made me stand beside of him, he smiled and said, "Guys, I'd like you to meet, Calista White, the chick Gildarts brought in."

A blonde girl and blue cat seemed very excited to see me, but a dark haired young man, I could feel his suspicion. I didn't say much but just nod. However, they all seemed very intrigued with my eyes.

"Nice to meet ya- woah!" The blonde girl shouted in astonishment. I knew what she was going to say. I knew what they were all thinking when they began to stare at me. I grew irritated, and so my eyes turned red. I didn't care about it, but it's quite annoying for people to be gawking at you like this. What's the big deal? I'm not sensitive about my eyes, I guess I'm just not used to people asking me questions about them. Again, I'm not used to being around people at all.

I could sense the dark haired guy glare at me, not wanting to trust me. I could feel the distrust that it was almost... pleasing. He seemed amazed though by my eyes, and said, "What's wrong with your eyes?" The way he said it almost sounded harsh, but it didn't matter to me, really, considering I was already irritated with the blonde bimbo.

At the sight of the question, I irritatingly say, "I'm blind. Is that a problem?"

They all looked at me suddenly, I could feel their energy coming towards my direction. They were concentrated on me, and only me. The sensation of their energy, felt absolutely amazing. I could feel it embrace all around my body. I couldn't help but laugh, which made Natsu question.

"Hey, what's so funny?" He asked with confusion.

I almost forgot I was in a room full of people, and I didn't really understand what Natsu meant by his question, "What do you mean?" 

"Did you not just laugh all of a sudden?" He asked, very confused now.

"No?" I replied. His friends looked at me with weary eyes. I could feel their senses, they think I'm crazy. Of course. 

"Well... why don't you sit down with us so we can get to know you better?" The blonde asked.

I nodded in heavy disagreement, having a sour taste in my mouth, "Yeeah... that won't be necessary. I'm only here for a short while."

"Doesn't mean we can't know a little more about you." The dark haired guy said, this time his shirt was off.

I stared at them with irritation and bitterness, "Why does it matter? I'm no one important and want to stay that way."

I could feel their stares for miles, they couldn't believe what I just said. I don't understand these people. First they gawk at my eyes, then they want to get to know me better? What am I, famous or something? 

"Well... I'm Lucy, and this is Gray." She said with somewhat determination.

I stare at them, not caring one bit, "Okay. Cool. I really don't care."

I could tell that they didn't like my attitude. I still didn't care though, it's not like they can change who I am. I can't believe I let myself be fooled by the niceness around me, that sincere kindness Natsu had. That evil will never be lifted off my shoulders. Never.
