Ran couldn't help but stare at this Masato Toshu. She sees everything about Shinichi in him, the only difference is that his hairstyle is a bit different and his skin complex is a bit darker than his. Ran had mixed feelings towards him. Why does he have to look like that moron Shinichi?! I hate that idiot! But... But at the same time I... Her thoughts were cut from the sound of a whistle. Looks like the competition was about to start. The atmosphere started to become tense and everyone - yes, everyone - was watching the two of them. Ran and Toshu formed their starting position. Heart pounding, Ran closed her eyes and prayed. When the whistle was once again blown, Ran made a loud scream and aimed her kick at Toshu's chest. But Toshu's reaction was too fast for Ran. He moved behind her and kicked her right at the back. Ran fell down, injured. Gasps from the Teitan side were heard. I won't give up. I came all the way to... Lose?! NO WAY! were Ran's thoughts. She immediately stood and the two of them circled around together, clenching their fists. The Teitan side once again cheered up and continued cheering for the captain of the Teitan karate team. Toshu made the first move but Ran dodge it and directly punched him in the stomach. When Toshu was on his knees and clutching his stomach, Ran took the chance to overthrow him but as she was coming near, Toshu kicked her in the arm, causing too much pain for Ran to throw him. She had to kneel down for the pain was too much, and Toshu once again took the chance to kick her in the other arm, causing both of her arms to be extremely painful. Ran looked at her left arm. She can see a sign of a bruise coming. What should I do? My arms are both down, I can't throw him anymore! Jikogenba's cheer was too much. They were too overjoyed to see their opponent beaten -  almost knocked-out. But that didn't stop Ran from fighting. Toshu must have read Ran's mind, for he was also about to overthrow her, causing the chance for her back to break. Fortunately, Ran was smart to realize what he was about to do, so as he was about to grab her, she immediately rolled over and stood up. The Teitan side cheered as Ran stood up. I won't give up! I won't give up! The Teitan side was so supportive that they were already shouting and cheering Ran's name, "Mou-ri Ran! Mou-ri Ran!" which gave her more determination and energy to fight. When her opponent was about to approach her, she, using her left hand, immediately grab hold of his arm and with her other hand, she punched his stomach, and elbowed his jaw. When he was down, although injured, she used all her strength and energy to grab his arm and overthrew him. The referee shouted out loud, "1, 2, 3, 4..." Teitan's eyes were focused on Toshu. Is this it? Are they gonna win? Ran stared at her opponent with one arm clutching her other arm while breathing hard. "5, 6, 7,..." Ran can hear her side counting with the referee. Toshu was still there, struggling. He can get up anytime. I just have to be ready. Ran thought. Their screams grew louder as seconds were coming near to 10. Ran stared at her side for she felt the cheerful and joyful atmosphere. "8... 9... 10!"

Teitan Highschool won the national championship.

Overjoyed screams and cheers were heard all over the stadium as Teitan Highschool once again defeated their opponent. But Ran didn't feel that good. She turned to look at her lying opponent. His teammates came up to him. "Sensei! Sensei!" were the shouts of his team as they were trying to wake him up. He woke up, still weak but was strong enough to stand up. His face still pale from the attacks of Ran, but she didn't prioritize that. She has her own pain too. Ran's arms needed to be tended as soon as possible, so they went to a nearby infirmary to heal her bruises. A big bruise was found in each arm of Ran, what's worse is that they have an ugly shade of purple. "You're lucky," said the nurse, "You could've broke your arm during that fight. You should thank Kami-sama for that." Kami-sama? Oh yeah. Kami-sama must've helped me. Thank you, Kami-sama. You've been very helpful today.

Monday. Another boring day for school to start again. But this was no ordinary day, and it wasn't boring either. When Ran entered the school, waves of students surrounded her, saying "Congratulations!" Some of them even have a gift for her. Ran was speechless. Then she walked ahead, not minding the compliments the crowd was giving her. It didn't seem to matter anymore. She somehow managed to get pass the big crowd. While she was walking on the hallway, an idea popped in her head. She ran to Sonoko's classroom to share the idea. "Hey, Sonoko!" she called out her bestfriend. Sonoko, who was browsing Makoto's photos, suddenly turned around to her best friend. "Listen to me, Sonoko."  Ran said with an enthusiastic tone, "I'm gonna plan to confess to Shinichi. But you have to help me out." Sonoko was surprised. She thought that guys should usually confess to girls, but then she also thought, this world is a weird place, let it be. "Ehh?!" Sonoko shouted, catching the attention of her classmates. Ran shushed her and apologized. With a loud whisper, Sonoko asked her, "Ok I'll help but as long as you won't do anything that will harm the three of us." Ran chuckled, then grinned. "Of course! Why would I do anything like that?" Ran said, then continued, "So here's my plan: We'll eat out at Poirot at 7pm. The three of us will meet there. You pretend you forgot something, - your cash, for instance -  leaving both of us behind. Then I'll "take the chance" and confess to Shinichi then I'll signal you by mailing you once I'm done. I know it's embarassing but it's worth to try."  Sonoko paused for a while, absorbing the plan. "It's good!" exclaimed Sonoko as she learned and knew the idea of Ran. Ran smiled back at Sonoko, excused herself and went back to her classroom. She went to her desk, placed her bag on top and went out for the flag ceremony. This is one of the reasons why Ran and her classmates hate Mondays. They have to stand outside either dying from the heat (if it's the summer season) or freezing from the cold. (if it's winter season) Students were walking to the school ground like a wave of zombies coming closer to their target. They had to sing the national anthem and school song. As they were lining up per class, Ran's eyes were searching for Shinichi. Did that idiot come to school today? Her eyes, then, focused on a person. Shinichi! He must've felt eyes looking at him for he turned around to see the owner of those eyes. Ran knew he would turn around so she did the same thing quickly. She didn't bother about the things around her now. She wanted to execute her plan.

Days seem to fly so fast for Ran because the day finally came for the plan to hopefully work out. She woke up, feeling excited but she forgot that she still didn't text Shinichi so she grabbed her phone and began clicking on the buttons.

"Hey shinichi. im inviting everyone for a blow-out since weve won the championship. do u wanna come? sonoko is also joining us."

10, 20, 30 minutes have passed and Shinichi hasn't replied yet. Is he keeing up the suspense, or is he really that snob? Ran thought. When she felt that she was about to cry, she said to herself, "Think happy thoughts. Thinking of wrong and sad thoughts is like emotion suicide." She sighed, then spent the rest of the time to prepare for tonight.
