LIAM'S POV
The VMAs were amazing. I was surprised when we actually won 3 major awards. Throughout that whole time, however, I couldn’t stop thinking about Alicia. As we walked up to get our final award, Best Share-Worthy Award, I could see her in the corner of my eye as we walked on stage. She clapped indifferently and looked as if she would rather see The Wanted win that award.
I shuddered at the thought. We told all the magazines and media that The Wanted were five amazing lads who were fun and great company. But the five of us knew that these boys were anything but nice. They were a couple of assholes that thought they could steal our spotlight and our women. It was only a matter of time before they tried to steal our awards too.
Performing tonight was heart-racking. I’ve performed in front of big crowds and I’ve always gotten over the nervous feeling. But tonight felt different. I couldn’t help but stare into the crowd where Alicia was sitting.
Why is she having this effect on me? I haven’t seen her for four years, for Christ’s sake! The only girl I’m supposed to be picturing is Danielle…not some stupid girl from my past. Okay, she wasn't just some stupid girl, but still.
“Hey Liam, are you alright? You look a little irritated,” Harry said throwing the small stress ball at me.
“Yeah I’m fine. Just thinking about the girl that showed up at the awards tonight that’s all,” I replied with a smile and throwing the ball back at him.
He said again, “Well don’t think about her. There’s a reason why you left remember? She was holding you back. Now you’re famous and you have some great lads to work with,” he said gesturing at all of the boys in the back of the limo, “You don’t have to worry about it anymore.”
I knew Harry was right. I shouldn’t worry about her anymore. But was the real reason I left because she was holding me back? I always thought she was helping me up. I always felt bad for leaving, but I wanted to be someone so badly.
“Yeah Harry, you’re right. Now we can go to this party and forget Alicia ever showed up at the awards,” I said, trying to get back in the happy, excited mood.
“Of course he’s right, Liam. Now let’s get in that party and show these people how real men are supposed drink,” Niall said, jumping out of the limo as it came to a stop.
ALICIA'S POV
“Hey girl! It’s so good to see you. Come on in, grab a drink!” Britney Spears yelled drunkenly as I walked through the door of one of her many LA penthouses. She shoved a cup of something in my hand and walked away into the crowd.
I took a sip and flinched at the strong taste. At least it was good quality tequila. I kept sipping when Kelly Clarkson and Mariah Carey waved me over to the couch they were sitting on.
Kelly, as always, looked fabulous in her beige short dress with glittering sash. Mariah was sporting a black strapless dress and beige pumps.
“Wow, Alicia you look amazing as usual. I loved your blue dress tonight by the way. It really made an impression on everyone,” Mariah said standing up to give me a hug.
Kelly stood up also and hugged me. Then she looked at me from arm’s length and examined the party dress I changed into, “You look great! Harris did an amazing job tonight. Remind me to give him a bonus.”
I was wearing a silver strapless dress with black strappy heels and a black clutch. I definitely needed to thank Harris again.
I smiled and thanked Kelly, then began looking around the room. It was filled with celebrities I could only dream of meeting. From Zac Efron to Justin Bieber, Vanessa Hudgens and Angelina Jolie. I could tell my faced mimicked the happiness I was feeling on the inside.
