"Michael," Luke called from the kitchen to the boy still lay on the couch watching tv.
"What?"
"Do you wanna come out with me, cal and ash?"
"No." Michael snorted. "Just go, I'll be fine here."
"I'm not leaving you in here alone." Luke said as he walked into the lounge.
Michael glared and stood up, he'd had enough.
"You know what? You left me plenty of times before!" He exploded.
Luke frowned. "What?"
"You heard me. How many times did I beg you to stay? No though, you'd rather have been with Calum and Ashton any day of the week. You think it's different now? Why should it be any different now? Stop pretending like I'm your priority all of a sudden, does it make you feel less guilty?"
"I don't know what you're talking about." Luke lied.
"Yeah, sure. Well, Lucas I'll be in my room. Have fun with Cashton."
Michael turned around and stormed off, slamming his bedroom door.
Luke rubbed at his forehead and sat on the couch. Of course he knew what Michael was talking about.
Flashback:
"Michael, Ashton and Calum are coming over." Luke called to Michael from the lounge.
"O-okay." He replied quietly.
"Do you wanna sit in here or are you gonna ignore us?" Luke crossed his arms.
"I-I'm not ignoring you I just-"
"Yeah okay well, have a good time by yourself, since you seem to like that so much better."
Michael frowned and looked at the floor. He never felt like he had anything relevant to say around Ashton and Calum. He didn't feel comfortable with them as a big group.
That was just a part of who he was.
"I'm s-sorry." Michael scrunched his face up.
"No it's fine Michael, you don't wanna bother making friends I won't bother to help you." Luke scowled.
Michael stayed silent in the other room, it might have had something to do with the fact that he was starting to quietly cry.
"Change of plan, I think I'll go out instead." Luke huffed, sick of the silence.
"P-please don't go." Michael whimpered.
Before he knew it Luke was at his door with his arms folded, looking skeptically at the boy.
"Are you coming?"
Michael looked at him with pleading eyes. "You know I can't."
"Have fun." Luke said as he turned around and walked towards the door.
"Luke!" Michael cried, following him with tears rolling down his face.
Luke stopped and turned round, looking at his flat mate half way across the room and raised an eyebrow.
"I'm not in the mood to deal with you Michael."
Luke left with his phone and keys and Michael slumped against his bedroom door, loud sobs escaping his mouth.
He didn't have to stay quiet since Luke wasn't there.
When Luke got home he found michael on the floor outside his bedroom asleep. It was obvious he'd cried himself to sleep but Luke stepped over him to his own room and shut his door.
End of flashback.
Luke frowned and tugged at his hair, starting to feel guilty for all the things he's done. All the times he'd treated Michael badly. All the times he'd ignore Michael when Michael clearly needed him.
Luke was stupid. Michaels attempt wasn't out of the blue at all.
And then, Luke started to cry.
