"The sailor went to sea, sea, sea to see what he could see, see, see." Naruto's and Shuurai's chants filled the salty air. ''But all that he could see, see, see was the bottom of the big blue sea, sea, sea!"
"I get that we're on a boat and we are sometimes helping to sail, but technically we're not sailors ." Sakura said dryly.
"No one asked you to be technical." Shuurai said, tilting her head and sending her a closed-eye smile.
"No one asked you to play childish hand games, either."
Shuurai's eyes glinted with an idea. "Naruto, Sasuke, come here." Both boys moved closer as she whispered her plan to them.
"But that might hurt Sakura-chan's feel - We'll do it." Sasuke cut Naruto off.
"Maybe it won't hurt her too badly." Naruto said doubtfully. "I mean, she does know how to-"
"Naruto, let's just start." Shuurai said hurriedly.
"Sar macadora," three voices chanted. Their voices grew louder with each number when they got to the counting part. "-4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!"
The three grabbed Sakura and threw her overboard.
"Waa!" Sakura wailed comically as she thrashed around in the water. "Sasuke-kun, help me! I'm drowning!"
Sasuke raised an eyebrow at her. " First, Naruto very kindly put a floating ring on you before we pushed you overboard. Second, you know how to walk on water. Third, even if your chakra's cut off, you still know how to swim. So what exactly is the problem?"
Sakura chose not to answer his question. Instead, she wailed, "Sensei! Shuurai and Naruto threw me overboard!"
"I can see that." Kakashi appeared, holding his book. "Why don't you climb onboard again? It's a warm, sunny day, you'll dry off in no time."
"But Sensei, you have to punish them!"
Kakashi sighed."Now who's being childish? Either stay in the water or get on the boat. Besides, your ninja skills are very lacking if you couldn't see that coming."
"Ninja means to endure." Sasuke and Shuurai said in unision.
"That's right." Kakashi nodded, then walked away to the front of the ship.
Sakura, thoroughly soaked and humiliated, clambered on and went below deck. "Ninja also means to hide," she muttered as she disappeared down the steps.
"Yeah, that's why you're hiding from us!" Shuurai called after her.
Four hours later, they were vaguely nearing their destination and Sakura still hadn't come out.
"I think," Shuurai said slowly, helping drop the anchor, "that we went a tiny bit too far."
"Time to rest, guys," Kakashi said. "Go grab some sleep."
"What we?" Sasuke raised his eyebrows at her. "It was your idea. Naruto and I aren't going to do anything.
"Yes we are," Naruto grabbed Sasuke's shirt and started dragging him across the ship. "Once a team, always a team."
"Wise words, Naruto," Shuurai giggled. Then her eyes brightened up. "I've got an idea!"
"Oh no, no,no." Sasuke shook his head and tried to get Naruto's hands off his arm. It didn't work. Naruto had a vice-like grip. "No more of your ideas. I've already been dragged into saying sorry because of you."
"I don't remember you trying to stop me, big brother. In fact, I remember you cutting Naruto off when he voiced that it wasn't a good idea."
"Once you've got your mind set on something it's pretty hard stopping you, Princess." Sasuke retorted feebly.
"And it's useless trying to stop me this time." Shuurai said decisively.
A knock was heard and Sakura opened the door cautiously. She'd spent the last few hours crying, moping around, writing in her diary and generally feeling very sorry for herself.
Sakura gasped. Outside, Naruto and Sasuke were standing, carrying trays of food. both were wearing matching butlers' uniforms and their trays were decorated with a mosaic of the sea. The trays were filled to the brim (haha, no pun intended) with colourful fruits, delicious sandwiches and cordial with little paper umbrellas sticking out.
"You ordered, ma'am." Sasuke bowed.
"Room service," Naruto grinned. "Bringing you a healthy, fresh island platter, for free!"
"I'm sorry, Sakura." Shuurai appeared, clasping her hands in front of her and looking very apologetic. "I went too far. I understand if you don't forgive me, but at least forgive those two." Shuurai turned around, heading for the stairs, but was stopped by a pair of arms around her. She turned back, slightly shocked and was faced by a very happy Sakura.
"Thank you," Sakura whispered, tears in her eyes.
"No problem." Shuurai smiled at her. She tried to take a strawberry form one of the platters but her hand was swatted away by Sasuke. He gave her a look which meant, stay away from it until you get a green light from Sakura.
"Oh," Sakura noticed the situation. "Help yourselves, guys."
Sasuke and Naruto put the platters down on a table and everyone started eating.
"Sakura?" Shuurai finished a strawberry and popped a pineapple piece into her mouth. Sakura looked at her and Shuurai grinned.
"Happy Fourth of July."
Hehe. I was writing this chapter in an exercise book outsie, eating fruit while I did it. And sorry I'm a bit late with the 4th of July. I was banned from the computer yesterday because the day before that, I was up until 11:30 pm trying to finish this chapter on the computer. Also, Shuurai has a nice side! Don't get too used to it, though it might pop up now and then! Sorry this chappy isn't as long as usual, because of the nagging of a certain someone. *hint hint ethanwillows10*

Strike of Lightning (Naruto fanfic)
FanfictionBefore you ask, no, this is not a fanfic where the main character/friends get struck by lightning and get transported to another world. It's simply called this because that's what the main character's (Shuurai) name means. Plus I've got no idea how...
