After locking up Ivan, Napoleon, Capone, and all of their remaining men back into their crates in the Archives, we went out in the big square were Amelia was waiting for us with her plane. We started to say goodbye to our new friends, and one by one getting in the back of the aircraft. Ahkmenrah was already in, sitting near his sarcophagus, when Custer came to say goodbye to me

-I guess it's a farewell then- he said

-I don't think so, I'm truly sure we'll meet again-

He smiled sadly

-Well, if it is so, I'll wait for you-

I was on the edge of tears. I was so sorry for him. It was clear that he had strong feelings for me. I hugged him. He was surprised at first, but then he hugged me too

-You, are a wonderful person, and your past doesn't count. What counts is who you are now. And you're wonderful. I'm sure you'll find someone sooner or later. I promise-

-But how can I? If I got it right, it's only because of the Tablet that we are alive-

I giggled

-Don't underestimate the power of a demigoddess-

I looked at him

-Tommorrow night you all will still be here, alive as you are now, and only from sundown to sunrise-

He smiled

-Thank you-

-It's the least I can do-

I smiled back, then I got on the plane too. I sat near Ahk

-Everything okay?- he asked, taking my hand

-Yeah, nothing to worry about- I said smiling at him

He smiled back. After a few minutes, Amelia took off

We landed on the street in front of the Museum of Natural History about half an hour later. Larry opened the door and helped everyone get down. The Huns helped Ahk with his sarcophagus, and brought it inside the building with him. I got down, where Amelia was waiting

-It was truly an honor meeting you, Amelia- I said

-The honor was all mine, Alice-

We hugged, then I went to the doors. But then I immediately hid behind a column, and spied those two

-Well, you're back where you belong- said Amelia

-Yeah, think so-

They remained silent, looking at eachother

-I guess I... should be going- said Amelia

-Yeah...-

But before Amelia could go back in the plane, Larry called her back

-Hey, Amelia. That thing that I was trying to tell you about earlier... There's not really an easy way to put this, but, in the morning...-

-I know what's coming, Mr Daley- interrupted her -I've always known. But it doesn't matter. You've given me the adventure of a lifetime in one night- she smiled -and I have a feeling it's going to be a beautiful sunrise-

They smiled at eachother, then Amelia hugged him

-Have fun- she whispered

They looked at eachother

-Thanks- said Larry

Then, finally, Larry kissed her. Then Amelia got on her plane, and took off
From inside Larry's pockets, Jed and Octavius peeked out
