I hadn't realized how long it's been since I've written in this book!!! So sorry!! More updates coming soon;))))

---------------------------------

"Fuck." Levi hisses for what seems like the millionth time, aggressively tapping away on his phone, "God damn it."

I silently watch him from my position propped against a tree. He had taken his undershirt off and wrapped it tightly around my wound, stopping some of the blood but not the pain. After my adrenaline had worn off, and we were out of reach from the gunmen, I started to feel the shot, and it did not feel good. Levi had tried to comfort me as I cried like a baby, and sat me on his lap once he had partially stopped the bleeding, stroked my hair, and whispered in the ear how sorry he was. Once the pain was bearable, he began to try and make calls, but his cell service was in and out.

"God, baby, I'm so sorry." He drags his hand down his face, looking defeated. Baby?

"Can't we just get back on the road and find a hospital?" I breath, another wave of stinging pain shooting through the wound, making me squirm and grit my teeth.

"We can't." He comes toward me and crouches down so his eyes are inches from mine, "They'll be searching for us all night, we can't risk it."

"Who is "they"?" I ask him, confused.

"My fathers people, your fathers people, or anyone who hates either of the two." He grimaces, "We have a lot of people who could be after us."

"But why?" I sigh, "I don't get it."

"We're the two kids of two extremely powerful people, together, in one place. This could be the opportunity of a lifetime for someone looking for some money."

I gazed at the ground, not knowing what to say. He pushed himself away from the tree he had been leaning against and crouched down next to me, looking into my eyes.

"I promise to you, Willow." His voice deep with sincerity, "I won't let anything happen to you."

"Why?" I ask him, "You don't even know me. You could just leave me here and it wouldn't make any difference besides make things easier on you."

He groaned, and stood again. "I don't know Willow, okay?"

"We should get going before they come back then, right?" Suddenly gaining my strength back I pushed myself off the ground with a grunt. Levi instantly rushes to my side, placing a hand on my hip to steady me.

"You don't have to move yet, we're spending the night here." He says softly and gently helps me back down to the ground.

------------------------------

I groaned softly as I rolled flipped myself over on the soft bed, digging my face into the fluffy pillows and trying to shut out the sunlight that has interrupted by peaceful slumber.

I heard the sound of a shower running, and the smell of bacon assaulted my senses. What? This wasn't right?  My eyes shot open, suddenly remembering everything that had happened in the last 24 hours. I sat up fast, too fast, and fell back down onto the pillow with a shriek as pain shot through my shoulder. The shower stopped almost immediately., and I could hear rustling in the bathroom.

Stars danced in my vision from the pain still shooting through my shoulder as Levi flung the bathroom door open. He stepped out with nothing but a white fluffy towel wrapped around his waist. In any other circumstance I would have taken longer to admire his broad shoulder and toned body, but I was only focused on finding a more comfortable position to lay.

"Jesus, Willow." He places a hand on his chest, "I thought you were being killed or something."

"Or something." I groan back at him, rolling onto my right side and signing in relief as it relieved some of the pain.

Levi strides toward me and reaches for the hem of my shirt, lifting it quickly up to my neck before I have time to protest. I definitely didn't know Levi well enough for him to be seeing my undergarments anytime soon.

"Hey!" I shout trying to shoo him away.

"I changed to Willow, It's nothing I haven't seen." He smirks without looking me in the face, but continues to examine my shoulder.

"Clay said it wasn't too awful of a shot." He explains, "He put you under and then took the bullet out. Stitched you up pretty good too."

"Why have I done nothing but get hurt since I've met you?" I growl at him and swat his hand away angrily, pulling my shirt down carefully.

He doesn't reply. He only frowned deeply and retreats to the duffel bag that sits next to the bathroom door.

I realize now that we're in a large hotel room, with a single king bed, and kitchen, TV, and couch.

Looking back at Levi I see that he now had grey sweats on and is pulling a long sleeve T-shirt over his head. I watch as him impressive back muscles flex and ripple, nearly swooning.

"Where are we?" I ask him, shaking away my thoughts.

"Chicago." I doesn't look at me but strolls over to the window and throws the shades all the way open.

"How long was I out?" I ask, shocked that we've made it so far from home.

"A day and a half." He looked over at me with an apologetic look.

I nodded and began to sit up slowly, gauging my pain levels.  "We're probably going too have to get going soon right? To get where ever we're trying to go?"

He strode toward me and took a seat on the bed next to me, "Baby, we're already here." He laid back on the bed and patted the place next to him, "Chicago is where we need to be."

I lay back down and he puts a large hand on my waist, helping me down ease myself down slowly.

"I never meant for you to get hurt, Baby." He mumbles with his eyes drifting closed. There it is again; Baby.  His feet dangle off the end of the bed, and the bed dips down were he lays, causing me to slide toward him.

He doesn't seem to mind as he slips his arm under my neck, allowing me to use him as a pillow.

"I know." I whisper to him, "Maybe you're just bad luck."

"Probably," He smirks, but it fade quickly, "I'm going to make sure you don't get hurt again, Willow Reynolds. I promise."
