She had to follow the crow. She didn’t know why. She just had an overpowering desire to know where it would lead her. So she ran after the sound of its cawing, and eventually came to the bridge over the stream.

The crow was perched on the edge of the bridge’s railing. It saw her and flew to her. She reached out to touch it, and it flew over the stream. She jumped into the stream and tried to grab the crow. She waded and splashed and did all she could to reach it, but it evaded her each time. It flew higher. She climbed on a rock in the stream and stood on her toes to try to reach it. It flew in a circle around her head.

She had had enough. She jumped off the rock and lunged for the crow, only to fall face first into the stream. She winced as stones cut into her skin. She heard the crow caw behind her. She turned around. Amy realized then why Sin had told her not to get too close to the water.

She saw the crow…flying above the head of a kappa.
