When the sun rose the day after the hurricane, there was an unrecognizable island before the Assassins. Dozens of trees had snapped, homes were destroyed, and some of the temples were damaged. If the water couldn't have drained into the sea, there is no doubt that the whole island would have been terribly flooded.

The sleep-deprived pirates made their way through the soaking wet trail back to Jackdaw to set sail for Great Inagua. Edward invited Kidd to meet them there for a party. Kidd didn't know what she would be celebrating, and Edward refused to tell her. Kidd's curiously got the best of her, and she accepted the invitation. She decided to stay at Tullum for a day to help Ah-Tabi and the Assassins repair her home. Then, she would set sail for Great Inagua. If all went smoothly, she would be expected to arrive at the island the day after the Jackdaw, which is exactly what Edward wanted. By then, he would have found the Jewel River.

As a token of gratitude for returning Ezio's blades, Ah-Tabi gave Anna an elegant, Carribean-styled pair of hidden blades similar to the ones that he and his men wore.
Anna couldn't have been happier as the Jackdaw glided off of the shores of Tullum and set sail straight for their prize.

With a full heart, Anna made her way to the poop deck to Edward who was steering the ship. She gleefully went behind him and wrapped her arms around his back to his chest.
Edward took one of his hands off of the helm and grabbed hers. He delicately brought it up to his lips and kissed it as if it were a priceless treasure. Anna sighed as they sailed away from the pink sunrise. Everything was perfect.

Edward smiled,

"Just think of it, Anna. Soon, we will be at Great Inagua with more diamonds than we can carry, and enough money to spend on anything we want for the rest of our lives."

Anna laughed breathlessly as she imagined the Jackdaw at the brink of sinking as her hull overflowed with precious gems. She lighly buried her nose against the nape of Edward's neck,

"Where will we go after we are so rich?" She asked.

If Anna could see Edward's face, she would have noticed the handful of seconds that his eyes darted around in worry.
A memory surfaced to his mind:

"I promise, Caroline. Once I am rich enough to make you and me happy, I will come back for you. You deserve to live a rich life.. WE deserve.."

He shook the memory from his head and answered Anna playfully,

"Well, you'd love Great Inagua. I think of it as my vacation home. There's a little town with a nice pub, brothels for the men, drink as vast as the Carribean ocean, and... A mansion on the hilltop for you and me."
He ended with a wink over his shoulder at her.

Yet, after he winked at her, his eyes narrowed predetorily at the sea behind Anna.

The girl's frowning face followed his gaze to see a British brig against the pink sky quickly gaining on the Jackdaw.

"All hands! Battle stations! Man your guns! Two seconds! Ready the mortars!"
Kenway roared.

Adawalé echoed his captain's orders as he ran onto the poop deck. Edward pulled the helm to the left to light the larboard cannons up with the British brig. Anna snatched Edward's spyglass and clicked it into zoom on the brig.

"Fire mortars!" Yelled Edward.

BOOM BOOM

Anna watched through the glass as the mortars hit their target. Once their mortar fire cleared the brig, Anna saw her name,
