Cress turned around to face the man standing behind Thorne and her. The man standing behind them was a shell. She knew this for sure. A smile crept up on her face as she realized that it was her old friend from childhood.

"A-Aaron? Is that you?" She timidly asked the man. Thorne whipped around to see who Cress was talking to.

"Oh! I didn't know that we had a visitor." He dropped the port screen into the white sand and stood up to face the stranger. "I'm Thorne. Carswell Thorne. But my girlfriend here calls me Captain." He said with a smirk. Cress, who was now standing beside Thorne, looked down at the sand as she tried to hide her blush.

"She won't be your girlfriend soon." The shell replied in a raspy voice. Aaron threw himself on top of Thorne and began punching him. Cress screamed and tried to push her old friend off of Thorne but it was no use. He threw her away, and continued to beat Thorne up.

"Aaron! Stop it! You're hurting him!" Tears were streaming down Cress face as she screamed this.

"If I can't have you, neither can he."  Thorne was wide eyed and was desperately trying to protect himself from the punches. He cried out in pain.

"Stop it! Please, I'm begging you." Cress began to hit Aaron's back and tugging at his shirt. She couldn't lose Thorne. Not today, not ever.

"Cress!" Thorne cried out. "Stay back. I don't want you to get hurt."

She stood back and bit down on her lip as she tried to figure out what to do. She suddenly saw the port screen lying in the sand. Cress knew that she wouldn't be able to get anyone out here fast enough to help her, but she knew that she could use this for something else.

She picked it up. The blonde girl ran back over to the fight. "Hey, Aaron!" She yelled. He looked up at the tiny girl. In that time, she whacked him on the head with the port screen. He blacked out and fell on top of Thorne.

Cress helped Thorne roll the body off of him and she immediately cupped his face in her hands, looking for any serious injuries. "I'm so sorry, Thorne."

A tear rolled down her cheek but Thorne wiped it away with his thumb. "It's alright. It's not like you planned for this to happen. Right? Everything will be okay."

"But it's all my fault! If I hadn't known Aaron, if I hadn't been taken away to the blood palettes, if I hadn't been born as a shell, if I hadn't even been bor-" Thorne cut her off by kissing her on the lips. She gasped, but kissed him back. His hand cradled her head in the palm of his hand, as he played with her hair.

When they pulled apart, Thorne whispered, "I didn't want to hear the rest of that last thought." Their foreheads were put together and they were both panting from the kiss. Her lips turned up into a smile. "Come on, let's go clean up all this blood." He suggested.

They stood up, grabbed the port screen, and walked away from the scene. "Thanks. For saving me." Thorne said as he wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer.

"It's not only you that gets to save people." She smirked.
