6 years later:
"Are you ready for the trip?" Thorne asked his children. They stared up at him with huge smiles on their faces. "I'll take your silence as a yes." He patted their heads as he passed them, to go look for his wife.
Today was their 6 year anniversary. He wanted to make this one special, and include the whole family in it this year. He had planned a trip to Mexico, to the exact spot where he had proposed to his beautiful wife. A smile crept up on his face as memories of that day came back.
It was a majestic day for the both of them. Cress, who was nervous at first, blurted out three important words. The three important words that can make anyone's heart melt. Thorne had decided that it was time, it was time to ask her to be his wife. They both were filled with joy when they became each others official partner.
Throne walked through the hallway of their home, and knocked on the bedroom door that Cress and he shared. He walked in to find Cress sitting on a suitcase, trying to zip it shut. "I'm almost ready, I just have to..." Her eyebrows were knit together in concentration. She let out a scream as she lost her grip on the zipper, and fell. Thorne caught her just before she hit the ground.
"Looks like you need some help." Cress's cheeks turned a tint of red as he helped her back on her feet. No matter how long they've been together, she was never going to get used to Thorne's charms. She nodded shyly and watched as he zipped the suitcase up with ease. "Now let's get these out to the Rampion." He took the luggage and dragged them out of the room and into the spaceship, meanwhile Cress was following with the shoulder bag. Their children were already waiting on the ship for them.
"Kids, go buckle up. We'll be leaving soon." Cress called to them. She sat down beside her husband, who was in the captains chair.
"Ready?" He asked her.
"Ready." She smiled at him.
The Rampion shook as he started the engine, and left their estate. They flew over London, past the Eiffel tower, and across the Atlantic Ocean. They were almost at Mexico, when a warning came up.
"Attention, only 1/4 of a tank of gas left. Please fly to the closest airport to refill." Darla's robotic voice filled the ship. Panic rose in Thorne. He had been sure that he had filled the ship with gas before he left. Hadn't he?
This couldn't be happening.
