Not a Single Heartbeat {A.I}

"This is good enough well stay here" I said as we finished walking through an empty house, the boys just nodded and put there things down and sat on the couch

I went upstairs to one of the bedrooms and sat down on the bed, I grabbed the dagger Zoey gave me and looked at it admiring it's beauty, I ran my fingers across where it said 'Zoey'

I placed the dagger in my lap and grabbed the photo out, I remember that day, it was a sunny morning and we decided to go outside and play, we were only 14 in this photo. My mum came out and asked if she could take a photo of us, this is my favourite photo of me and Zoey

"Pandora can I come in?" A voice called from the other side of the door

"Yeah" I sniffled as I put the photo and dagger away

Ashton appeared and he walked over to me sitting beside me

"I'm sorry about what happened with Zoey" he frowned

"It's not your fault"

"I still feel bad"

"Well don't, I don't want you feeling bad for something you didn't do okay"

"Okay" Ashton lowered his head

"I'm sorry I'm just sad and yeah it's hard to explain" I stood up and started walking out

"Where are you going?" He asked standing up

"For a walk" I called out and walked out

I grabbed my dagger so I didn't have to worry about grabbing it later and I walked, no destination I wanted to get to just wanted some fresh air

I walked into the woods and saw a creek, I walked over to a rock and sat down looking at the water, thinking about Zoey.

I heard a growling behind me so I turned around and looked and saw a zombie slowly shuffling towards me, I was too weak to kill it so I walked across the creek and sat on another rock and watched as it slowly made its way towards me. I observed her features. She had been a zombie for a while as her she had decayed a lot, her face looked hollow. You could see every bone on her. I knew I should of killed her but I couldn't, not today.

I stood up off the rock and walked slowly towards the house, looking back occasionally making sure she was still a good distance away.

"PANDORA BEHIND Y-" Ashton was yelling out but I raised my hand and he stopped talking, I continued slowly shuffling towards the house but making sure she was not going to get me.

Ashton walked started walking over to me and I knew he was going to lecture me

"Pandora why haven't you killed the zombie yet?" He asked

"Because it was only one. I don't have to kill her the minute I saw her" I informed him

"Pandora I'm sorry about Zoey but you can't just let zombies walk around" he chuckled

"I'm not" I laughed "it's one zombie shesh" I continued walking faster and Ashton quickly hurried after me

"Pandora, I know you upset but can we try not to get killed?"

"Well I've got nothing to live for? We're all going to die someday whether by a zombie or natural causes and obviously the world wants everyone dead so why don't we do it a favour and help it kill everyone" I spat and continued walking

"Pandora you are one of the main things that I live for and if you died then I wouldn't have anything to live for okay. So stop with this talk we want the old Badass Pandora back, I know your friend died but don't let that be the reason dragging you down"

"Ashton why am I the main reason you live for?"

"Because I like you and if anything happened to you I would be beyond devastated"

"We'll maybe you shouldn't like me I'm not that great"

"But I can't stop liking you"

"Well too fucking bad" i shouted and walked inside, rushing straight up to the room and locking my self in there
