Chapter 4

Mulan's pov

"He'll see you girl. Just be patient, he'll come around." Musho explained. He was short with dark skin and a curly mustache.

"He doesn't even see me as a girl!" I exclaimed as I punched the punching bag. We were discussing Shang and how obliviousness he was to my feelings since the eighth grade.

"Then go over there and ask him out, screw his head back properly for him," Mushu explained as I punched the bag again,"maybe then he might see the difference from girl and boy."

I laughed, as I took off one of my gloves to put my hand through my hair. I was sweating from head to toe. Dressed in shorts and a black t shirt and converse, no guy would even look my way.

Ling, Po, Yao nodded their heads in sync as they came over.

"Mushu is right, his boxing glove is too far up his ass for him to even notice." Ling laughed. He was the tallest from the group, with a slim head and body and dark hair in a ponytail.

Yao was the shorter from the three. With a scruffy beard and stumpy head. He always had a snarl on his face.

Po was the biggest from all three, he had a burger in his hand as they all looked at me with sympathy.

"We could set you guys up," Po explained.

"Are you people crazy! He'll mistaken it as a sign for us to do more practice." Mushu explained.

I let out a sigh, "he'll never understand."

I watched Shang leave the room when Musho yelled for everybody to listen up.

"Everybody knows who Mulan likes, right?" I elbowed him in the gut. But various reasons people stopped what they were doing and nodded their heads.

"It's Shang!" Some guy yelled, everybody began to circle us. I was the only girl in the team so I was used to being so close to them.

"Don't you think he should give her a chance?" Mushu shouted to the crowd of boys. I felt like going to hide in a ditch somewhere, as my face turned scarlet.

"Then let-" Mushu was cut short by Shang walking back into the training room.

He glared at everybody. Without saying a word everybody returned to what they were doing.

I quickly turned away and went back to the punching bag. I'm going to kill Mushu.

"Stupid Mushu," I grumbled hitting the bag harder.

"Hey Mulan!"

Everybody stopped what they were doing to stare at Shang as he made his way towards me. With every step, I hit more nervousness. When he was right in front of me I could see just how handsome he was. He had a firm jaw, with his short black hair showing off his nice cheekbones. He wore a simple top, but you could still see the outline of his six pack.

"Y-yes?" I mentally slapped myself for stuttering.

He stared at me for a moment, I felt everybody's eyes on me. He reached out and patted my arm, "good job."

My heart broke.

I felt my soul float away. He walked all the way here all handsome like to say good job! At least he talked to me.

"T-thanks, Shang." I smiled back.

He nodded and for a quick moment I swear I saw his cheeks redden, before he turned around.
