Darkest Truths

Prologue

                     A young girl, about the age of 5 years old considering how short
she was, was stumbling in the deep dark woods in Finland, carrying a bright candle that lit up the woods. No one knew her real name, so they called her Valontuojaa, or Bringer of Light. The life she has lived is beyond what they could ever imagine. When she isn't called Valontuojaa, she is called Ilta, or Night. She was named that by her parents, which had died the day after her first birthday, leaving Ilta to be raised by her older brother Oliver. She grew up as happy as a orphan can, with best friends and siblings to make up her loving family. But every year on her birthday, she took a candle and went into the woods where they shine on forever as if it was magic. No one knew why she did it, but when she woke up she didn't remember what had happened. Most believe she is possessed, since the first time she did it was on her first birthday, when her parents had died. Myth says it that when one of those candles she had put down goes out, one of her loved ones' lives is taken. Neither is right or wrong.

                       Ilta is not her real name, actually it is the first new name she has had, but that's too much information for a prologue. Ilta has 4 best friends- Amber, Alex, Oliver, and Jason. They have been there for her through everything.
