Chapter 2: The Hunt Begins

Tina finally makes it to the front door with those heavy groceries. She sets them down and looks out the window that hangs above the sink. She could see Mia talking in the garage with a shadowed figure. Tina knows that bulky mass and bald head from anywhere. Tina sinks down to the ground away from the window and taking deep breaths, not even knowing she was holding it in. She hasnt seen Dom for at least four years. And she didnt expect him to ever come back...until Letty's death. Tina sucked it in and stood back up, not feeling as sick anymore. she unloads the food and heads into the living room. She found a perfect cardboard box and wrote 'Letty's Stuff' on the front. She started to rumage through the entire living room, finding things that had anything to do with her sister. A picture of her, Tina, and Mia all together in swim suits when they were kids, a tiny cup from a tea set Letty kept in memory of her childhood, and a couple pictures of her and Dom together at the beach or in a car. Tina found some of her own clothes that were hand-me-downed from Letty and stuffed those in the box too. She even found Letty's phone that amazingly survived in the car accident Letty died in. The one picture Tina kept in the house of Letty's was a piture of her eighteenth birthday. Letty was on Dom's lap at the picnic table as Mia was slicing the cake in one corner of the picture with Tina and Vince in the other. Jessy and some other old family that are long gone were in the picture, too. Letty was laughing wih Dom smiling down at her. Tina kept that on the mantel peice so everyone who entered this house could see how happy this family use to be. Tina herself couldn't stop herself from crying while she packed away her sister's things. The tears continued pouring even if she was done and they couldnt stop falling. She sank into the couch and buried her face in her hands as the tears kept falling. She sobbed until she knew it has been hours and she didnt care. It was by night that she realized she wasnt alone in the house anymore. Two strong pairs of arms wrapped around her shoulders in comfort to answer. Dom's face was buried in the crook of Tina's neck as she kept crying, also glad that he was home. She guessed herself that she was crying to even see him here. She had no idea she had missed him so much. She leaned on him as he quietly cradled her like a child. She rested her head on his chest while his chin laid in her hair. Dom was wearing a smiple white tank top and jeans while his breath smelled of beer and his hands were strong and smelled of engine grease. Tina didnt realize how much she actually missed that smell. Dom's strong hand was brushing through her curly dark brown hair in comfort as he continued to shush her to sleep.

"It's alright. Your alright."

"Where have you been?" Tina asked through sobs.

"South America. Thought I shouldn't wander far in case my little sisters needed me."

Tina tried to laugh to the joke in his voice, but the tears made her refuse. He always called Mia and herself his sisters. His voice cracked like always and it just sounded so grown up.

"You were right about that." she whispered.

"Thought so." he mumbled.

"This family got lost without you. Han dissapeared and Tego and Rico went back to Rio, playing at casinos no dought."

Dom chuckled. "Im sorry. I thought leaving was the safest thing i could do for Letty and my baby sisters."

"So...what happens now?"

Tina had to know what Dom's next move would be. She had to tell Brian. She looked up into his dark eyes as his jaw clenched at the subject.

"Someone started this. And their still out there, still threating to break up whats left of our family. And im going to finish it. So no harm comes to you and little Mia."

"And let me guess, your going to leave us again after all this is over." Tina snapped.

Dom stared down at her, with anger and vengence in his eyes. He then leaned down and kissed the top of her head and whispered to her.

"I missed all of you a lot while i was away. I missed you, Ti. Now after Letty's dead you expect me to leave you again? No, im staying. Im not runnin no more. Im staying forever this time."

Tina took a deep sigh of relief, then hugged him close. Dom hugged her back.

"Im gonna go now. Mia's gonna show me the crash site then i'll go. Now, will you promise me you'll be safe? I cant afford another Letty to die."

Tina nodded. "I promise." she lied.

Dom nods and this time, leans down to kiss her cheek. His lips were warm against her cold, wet from tears, skin. His arms leave her side and he was gone. The moment she hears the car engine fade away down the road, she dashed for her phone and dialed one simple number. One she thought she would never have to call.

The phone buzzes to a woman's voice. "911, what's your emergency?"

"Hello? This is Agent Tina Monterello. May i speak to Officer Brian O'Connor, please?"

The other end of the phone is quiet for a second before a familiar voice picks up. "Tina?"

"Brian! Quick! We dont have much time! I know what Dom's doing next! Forget the diner! Meet me in Charleston Park in three minutes, and bring two cars with you. Fast cars."
